This HI Express is a winner. The reception staff are most friendly and efficient. The room comfortable and quiet at night. Breakfast adequate and tables kept clean.
The one negative comment would be that more attention needs to be paid to dusting in room. The chair that we had was dusty and "hairy" in the space between the seat and the back and when this hotel is not so new this is going to get worse also the tops of the wardrobe space was very dusty.
A very nice hotel in an excellent location.

Would suggest this hotel if you are travelling to Europe via Folkestone or Dover. The location is perfect if you are using the Eurotunnel as we did. It is a two minute drive away, literally!

The hotel itself is clean, the check in was less than 3 minutes and the staff were all polite and helpful. We had a family room (Two adults and two children) and there was enough room for us all.

And as for the price, we paid £59 for one night for 4 people. Bargin I say! Included was a continental breakfast which was basic but fresh.

With the UK unemployment total reaching 2 million, you might have thought the hospitality industry would be able to offer an adequate level of service to its customers. Regrettably, this hotel feels that it can get by on minimal staffing levels and expect its customers to put up with an hour's wait from placing a meal order. The start of the school Easter holiday break clearly meant nothing for the management of this establishment, who expected one receptionist, one barman and one chef to cope with a reasonable number (not large by any means) of guests starting a break en route to Europe. I felt extremely sorry for those members of staff who were working - they were very apologetic about the delays and had to field any number of complaints whilst we were waiting. Eventually, they were so embarrassed that everything ordered was offered without charge! Some might say that was over-priced...
Sadly, we will not be stopping again unless there is a vast improvement in levels of staffing. This is sad, because the hotel is in such a prime location for the Tunnel. I fear the management are far too complacent.

I stayed at this hotel for one night on the way to the ferry, with my husband and two kids. Check in wasn't the quickest, even though there was only one person in the queue in front, but the staff were helpful enough. The staff on the Tuesday morning were very friendly.

ROOM - The room was very modern and looked very new and clean. It was fairly small conmpared to most hotel rooms i have stayed in, but had most things that i needed. It had a kettle and tea/coffee, a hairdryer and a flat screen tv. The tv had the normal 5 channels plus some other freeview channels, such as news channels and bbc3 etc. There was no wardrobe as such, but there was a rail with hangers in it. The room had good lighting, ceiling light and bedside lights. In our room we had a double bed and also a double sofa bed, the sofa bed wasn't too comfortable though.

BATHROOM - The bathroom was very modern and had a walk in shower with shower curtain. The shower was hot, but wasn't as powerful as it could have been. The bathroom was clean and had good new towels and complementary soap and shampoo.

FOOD - We only ate breakfast here, so can't comment on any of the other meals. Breakfast is free and is described as continental. There were no hot items, such as sausgaes, eggs etc, but the food that was available was great. There was toast, different types of bread, croissants, cereals, fruit, cheese, ham and yogurts. There was also tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juice and milk to drink.

LOCATION - this hotel is very easy to find, just off the motorway and turn right at Tescos, the hotel is at the end of the road. It's in a quiet area and Tescos is just 5 minutes walk away. There is also a fish & chip shop 10 minutes walk away and the main town centre is just 5 minutes drive. There are plenty of pizza shops, indian and chinese take aways etc, if you fancy eating out.

All in all this is a great hotel and i would definately recommend it and stay there again.

This Hotel is ideally situated for Travelling from Dover or Folkestone by Ferry or using the Channel Tunnel. Its a very modern and up to day hotel and the cleanest we have ever stayed in.The rooms are well planned out, maybe its the new blueprint for Holiday Inn Express.Hope so.Great staff, lots of easy parking and the only properly working Toaster in a hotel breakfast room I have ever come across..This was our second stay in 12 months.A great place to stay and a bit extra than the norm for a Holiday Inn Express.
