On the positive side of things, the hotel is full of character and charm. It's public areas (such as the bar and reception) are nicely decorated while the staff are both friendly and helpful. The room was also very clean.
However, the hotel rooms are in need of refurbishment and the beds (as well as linen) probably need to be replaced. My room, in particular, had issues relating to heating. The radiator in my room did not turn off, causing the entire room to become incredibly hot and stuffy. Upon falling asleep in the room, I woke up within an hour feeling ill, flushed and incredibly uncomfortable. I slept with the window open which resolved the issue although it might not be necessary to have radiators on high both in the hotel corridors and bathrooms in July.
