I thought the staff were quick and very helpful. The food was served hot and tasted wonderful . The rooms were also extremely clean and comfy. All in all this was a pleasant stay, in which I'd return happily!

We were staying for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary we were in a standard room which was great value for money. Really clean and tidy room. Good value for money. Fantastic breakfast but ... we had as part of our deal an evening meal included. The food when it arrived was nice but we were ignored by three members of staff at the bar before one said they would be with us 'in a minute' We then went to our table and ordered our starter and main and waited 47 minutes for our starter then 40 minutes for our main and eventually got our dessert. Staff were apologetic but it ruined the evening. Staff were all pleasant and friendly. We would stay again but would not have restaurant food in the evenings.

Dear Guests,
Thank you for your review.
The delay you experienced during your dinner was very unusual, due to the restaurant being extremely busy. This has been brought to the attention of the restaurant Manager to be addressed and I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We stayed for 2 nights using it as a base to explore Canterbury and the local area and it was very good, the room was clean and tidy with coffee and tea. The restaurant food was very good quality and presented really well. Great value.

Got back yesterday from a two night stay which we booked through a wowcher deal which included breakfast and a two course dinner for 2 ppl. The room was basic but nice and clean with a flat screen tv, kettle and a nice bathroom with a shower. The breakfast was perfect we had a full cooked breakfast both mornings and dinner was lovely I had the lamb and my boyfriend paid the supplement for steak which was well worth it :) the town is pretty quiet but to keep us entertained we drove bout 15 mins away to the MacArthur Glenn designer outlet stores. All in all this was a lovely 2 night break.

Dear Guests,
Thank you for your review.
Glad to hear that you had a nice stay with us. Your compliments have been passed to our Head Chef and his team. Although the town might be quiet in Winter, it is a great destination in Summer with the award-winning coastal park & beach, a number of festivals, the Triennial art exhibition and also the creative quater... Hope to see you again in the future in sunny Folkestone! Yours sincerely

We stayed at The Burlington on 21st Feb for a 2 night stay with an Amazon local deal. It was well worth the money. The staff from the moment we walked through the door were excellent, the duty manager tried to get us a double instead of the twin that we had booked through our deal but as the hotel was busy this was not possible. Our room was ready early which was lovely but we had arrived just after 1pm on a Harley Davidson and were a little cold so we headed straight for the bar where the manager served us immediately with some bubbly refreshments ;)
As previous reviews have mentioned the hotel is old but classy too, could do with a bit of TLC but this did not distract from our total enjoyment of the hotel overall.
The food was tasty, hot and arrived in an acceptable time too.
The staff were friendly and happy to help.
The room was clean, warm, airy and bright. Bath towels were soft and warm, having had bad experience of hotel towels this was a delight to find.
Overall for the price we paid I would recommend this hotel for a weekend break.

On the whole the hotel was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the receptionist Laura. The restaurant was very good in the evening and the food was excellent but in the morning the eggs were a bit too hard and dry and on more than one occasion there was a wait for bacon, eggs and beans to be replenished and could have offered scrambled eggs too. The service at breakfast was very good. The rooms were very clean but towels were a bit old and stained. Would definitely return

A large old hotel conveniently situated for the Eurotunnel, just 5 minutes away. Staff were very pleasant indeed and couldn't do enough for us.
We opted for a twin room because we thought the double would be too small. The beds were pushed together so it was like having a super kingside. The pillows were very soft but as usual I had brought my own anyway. There are no duvets, just sheets, old brown wool blankets and quite modern covers on top. I discarded the brown blanket on my bed as there was a suspicious white stain on it which I had to chose to forget about as I really needed sleep in the middle of a lot of travelling. The room was very cosy, the heating was on full blast so we had no problem with the cold. The good thing is you can open the windows to get some air in and the road outside is quite quiet so you won't be disturbed. There is a large flat screen tv in the room and the decor is rather modern. The bathroom was basic with a shower over the bath. The soap and shower gel are in dispensers in the bathroom. There is a tea/coffee tray with shortbread. The alarm call in the morning was on time. We didn't have time to sample any of the food or drinks.
Overall, this place does what it says on the tin. Good value at £60.
The stain on the blanket is my main problem here but it is a rather major issue....worthy of a one star rating but I gave two in the hope that you will improve.
Tip for the hotel: dry clean your blankets between guests or invest in duvets please !
