Second. Stay at this hotel could not fault it from arrival until departure. All the staff were very attentive and accommodating. The room allocated to us was spacious and comfortable. The food was of a high standard and we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. We will be returning and wish to thank all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable give yourselves a well deserved. Pat on the back.

Just returned from a two night stay at this beautiful hotel. I have read several reviews and decided to give my honest opinion. We chose a standard double room so I wasn't expecting too much, it turned out to be fantastic , we had separate bathroom with shower it was all so spotless, fabulous sea views too, flat screen tv on the wall and wfi. Had dinner in the evening which was really good too , the breakfast was very large portions, too large for me but my husband managed to help me out with that., spent the following morning walking along the leas , so beautiful. In the afternoon a trip to dover very busy town but okay. all in all a fabulous 2 days away and would love to return again , the staff make you feel so at home , nothing is a problem, will be hard to compare another hotel in the future . Thanks to all the staff

Room Tip: we had room 109 not big but comfortable and good views

We booked this for an overnight stop and an early morning get away to the Shuttle. Great hotel They gave us an upgrade without our asking. The room was very spacious and very clean with a modern four poster bed.
We will definitely use again. First rate.

Room Tip: This is a big Victorian hotel near the sea. It would be a good place for a weekend and is definitely...

Dear Guests,
Thank you for leaving a review. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your overnight stop at the Burlington. Please note that we do often upgrade our guests if our superior rooms are available, otherwise I suggest it is always worth to upgrade for a small extra charge. I hope to see you again soon. Where do I begin - The staff could not do enough for us, the food was fantastic with equally fantastic service, the room had a wonderful view and was laid out brilliantly. We thoroughly enjoyed, if not loved our romantic stay in this characterful building. The hotel is situated in the prettiest part of Folkestone, with lovely walks along the Leas and down to the sea front. The town is within a 5 minute walk with lots of cafes and restaurants. Our breakfast was a treat and again nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We will definitely be returning to The Burlington - very soon. A big thank you to all the staff at The Burlington for making our stay so wonderful.

Room Tip: Prices are so reasonable it is worth paying the little extra for a superior room.

I have been working in the UK for the past few months and have been apart from my wife , so I decided to fly her back from France where we live for a romantic break.
I know Folkestone quite well so i checked every hotel within the town area for comparison and for me without any hesitation The Burlington was top of my list for location , staff efficiency, hotel ambience with plenty of character, the breakfast was really nice and of course without forgetting our Superior Room , very comfortable and well laid out with great views. Overall our stay was great value for money and would certainly stay again , I think my wife is already planning her next trip back . Thanks to all the staff at The Burlington.

Room Tip: Try and book the Superior Room

Just returned from another break at the Burlington.yes there are faults but the staff more than make up for this. The place is a little faded and we know they are updating as we speak - we do hope that when they update all the rooms they will still have dog friendly rooms - the most emails I have had for any review concerned the dog! Please reassure me on this!!
The faults- no permanant bar staff- yes the bar is not used very much but perhaps this is a catch 22 situation, also restaurant not open for lunch which is a shame. We had to go to Keppels at the Grand for lunch which was average to poor although again staff were lovely. We did not have dinner here this time as they had a huge party in - we missed this as the food is great and well sourced (Butchers of Brogdale).breakfast was super on first morning as cooked to order but when they have a large party in the breakfast is buffet style although again the service is great with staff laying up a table in the bar so that we could have the dog with us.
I love the Burlington but it does lose some of its atmosphere when they have large overnight coach parties in although I understand the economic reasons for this. Only saw Ashley a couple of times but not going to comment as he will get too big headed!!!!!!
ps walking along the Leas is Fab sea views beautiful and restaurants in Folkestone and Hythe really improving

Dear Guests,
Thank you for spending the time to write a review. First of all, refurbishment is currently taking place and will continue into the new year to upgrade all rooms and public areas, stil keeping the old charm and elegance of the building. Nothing to worry about your little friend as we are and will remain dog friendly. With regards to the bar staffing, your constructive criticism is noted and we are looking into increasing staffing levels on busy nights. Thanks for your compliments regarding our team of staff, friendly yet professional. I look forward to welcoming you again soon. Yours sincerely

Lovely old and majestic building close to the sea. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was one of the best we have ever stayed in, clean and spacious, great 4-poster bed and superb shower. Sea view too! WiFi worked throughout the hotel. Parking free, but not always available, however loads of free space in adjacent roads.
Only down side was the catering. We would recommend being early for breakfast - some items had run out the first morning when we got down but they tried to make amends. The dinner menu is adequate but not over adventurous, and I am sure one of the desserts started as a commercial one available at most supermarkets.
We had a special offer via Wowcher, which made the whole stay remarkable value. Even at full price it is still quite reasonable.

Dear Guests,
Thank you for your review. I am pleased to hear that you had a great stay at the Burlington in one of our new Superior rooms which are still good value for money. The Burlington has plenty of character which makes it really special. With regards to the restaurant, our dinner menu represents great value at just £25 for 3 courses and consists of dishes which are freshly prepared by our team of chefs. Many of the ingredients we use are ethically sourced from local suppliers and farms as stated on the menus. Just to reassure you, the only dessert option which is bought in are our popular Taywell Ice Creams which are also produced locally in Goudhurst, Kent. I look forward to welcoming again soon in Folkestone. Yours sincerely
