Enough has been said already to praise the rooms, but having stayed in the rooms recently I had to confirm what everyone else is saying!
It's a great location for a short stay.
The bedding is all top notch quality and so comfy a great nights sleep is a certainty.
Loved it!

Thank you for your lovely review following your recent stay in Rocksalt Rooms.

It really is appreciated when people take the time to leave their feedback, especially from such a delighted guest such as yourself! The bedding really is indulgent and a good night's sleep in our beautifully restored traditional iron beds can really set you up for the following day!

I very much look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind Regards

We enjoyed 2 nights stay. The room was clean, tidy. Rustic decor.

An early morning check out (10am) feels a little early-although we didn't struggle- given that guests may (should!) have a late night in the FAB cocktailbar in Rocksalt. They know how to make a cocktail!
From the time we arrived the staff were very friendly, efficient and courteous. We were given milk for the room on arrival and a small fruit bowl awaited us.
The room LALA, was the only one left when I booked-but although it was cosy with no wardrobe ,our hangers were fine on hooks- (and the wet room has been designed to maximise space!) there was plenty enough room, given we were in only it for a short space of time. The beds were super comfy and the décor was to a high standard. The "builders" stools referred to somewhere were to add to the rustic feel and didn't look like they were off a building site. Toiletries were provided.
I would suggest that someone of a bigger stature may feel that this room really was too small and that the bathroom facilities would be a little uncomfortable-given you are paying!
I agree that the heavy firedoors may be an issue if you are an early/light sleeper. We were aware ;but it wasn't a big issue for us. Also, there is a "plant room" adjoining this room- which sometimes generates a noise like an ac unit. not loud- just noticeable. Again, it didn't affect our sleep. There were no smells from the shop below.
The breakfast basket was offered, but we opted for superbly cooked breakfast in Rocksalt for a supplement of £10. It was an ample enough breakfast for us both. Fantastic to sit out on the decking eating our breakfast in the morning sun (yes -the weather was on our side!).

We thought it would be noisy at night -but it was incredibly quiet all night.
We would stay again, but would love to book early enough to get a room with a view and a little more space.
For the standard- and given our experience - we would stay again, for a special occasion- if eating at Rocksalt or locally. It's nice to be able to "walk home" within a short space of time after a good meal and drinks. Great combination of food, drink and sleep and customer service!

Room Tip: Dont choose if you like space and try and get a room with a view to make it worthwhile.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderfully detailed review following your most recent bisit to Rocksalt Rooms.

I am absolutely delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. Our rooms, as you say, are perhaps smaller and more boutique than a traditional hotel room however we have tried to remain in keeping with the harbour, the old buildings and the general feel of the area and to maximise the space we do have available in the best way possible.

Whilst La La is a wonderfully charming room - I quite agree that the sea view offered by Fergy and Valentine (our sea view rooms) are stunning and are certainly worth the small additional cost if there is one available on your chosen night.

Thank you once again for your lovely review, I really look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind Regards
Sarah Wentz

Located directly on the bay, this is the ideal place to stay when visiting Folkestone. Our room was small but nicely decorated and also very clean. We had a nice view over the bay and also binoculars to enjoy the view which was kind of cute. So was the breakfast which was served in a picnic basket and consisted of croissants, jam, juice and some yoghurt with fruits and cereals. This place is definitely worth a visit and was a nice experience!

Room Tip: Take a room with sea view, it's definitely worth it!

Lovely room on the harbour. Very tasteful room with comfy bed and good shower. Cocktail bar and fish and chip shop owned by the owner of rooms were excellent. Then breakfast hamper delivered at 8.30 very fresh.

We enjoyed 1 nights stay here in February, there were 3 sets of couples and I had made this reservation over 5 months in advance to secure all 3 rooms on the same night. We had dinner at the restaurant. The rooms were all very clean, tidy and rustic decor. The downsides were the secure parking recommended to us (which was up the hill and a long walk in the snow!) which we weren't informed of in advance and the early morning check out (10am) which was a bit of a shock considering most hotels are midday and we didn't leave the restaurant the night before until after midnight and lots of cocktails !

Room Tip: Book in advance directly with the restaurant to secure your chosen weekend

My husband and I booked into the rocksalt restaurant and b&b for their seaside Sunday offer. We and four friends had a set Sunday lunch which was delicious. We enjoyed several cocktails in the bar beforehand too. Highly recommend the rocksalt Mary!
Our offer included a double room with sea view and breakfast which was delivered to put door in a wicker basket in the morning!
Excellent value for money and lovely accommodation.
We will be back!

I have written a review on the actual Rocksalt Restaurant its self but I wanted to review the rooms separately.

Whereas I’ve written an average review for the restaurant, I was very pleased with the Rocksalt rooms.

We were booked into the valentine’s room which had a great view over the Folkestone harbour and we were treated to an amazing sunrise in the morning. Although these aren't the biggest rooms they are comfortable and just right for an evening’s stay if you are eating in the restaurant. Checking in and out was very straight forward and the breakfast hamper was a nice touch.

Even though I may not choose to eat in the restaurant again I would stay in these rooms if I was to visit Folkestone again.

Room Tip: From what i could make out the top rooms offered the best views of the harhour
