“First class welcome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2013

First class welcome and service. The recently refurbished rooms were extremely modern with every comfort. Extensive breakfast offering with fresh tropical fruit salad followed by traditional choices and some impressive alternatives e.g. smoked salmon, eggs bendict/florentine. Complimentary all-day soft drinks and fruit exemplify Paul's welcome.

Room Tip: All rooms are well appointed, just choose your theme!

Stay 2a is a really lovely B&B, I can't recommend it enough. We received a really warm welcome, despite arriving later than we had planned and were shown upstairs to our beautiful 'Love Letters' room. It was immaculate, not a speck of dust anywhere to be seen. We had something to eat in the restaurant downstairs which was also really lovely. Slept very well on a very comfy bed, ate a delicious breakfast (they even catered for my awkward lactose-intolerance!) and was ready for a huge road trip in France. I will definitely be staying at Stay 2a again, it was absolutely fantastic!

Spent a couple of days in this lovely boutique hotel and can honestly say it was fabulous!
We had the room "Love Letters" and it was beautiful, very well appointed and maintained - loved everything about the place. Curled up on the chair by the window - reading a book - so peaceful- heaven!
Paul and Penny were teh perfect hosts and nothing and i really mean nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was -well words fail me - the choice was staggering and the quality - brilliant.
With only 3 rooms this is a little gem - cant wait until our next visit - which is already booked:)

Visiting Folkestone for a family party we needed a place to stay for one night and were pointed to Stay2a by another local hotel which happened to be fully booked. I am delighted to report that their recommendation turned out to be an excellent one. Paul the owner called us before our arrival to confirm our booking and to give us information about how to get to the B&B by road, or in our case, from the local station. The three guest rooms are over the excellent Pauls Restaurant (the recommendation from members of my family who are regular diners there) and are all well furnished in a modern and interesting style. Ours, called A Walk in the Park, was the largest and overlooked the front of the building, and we really couldn't have asked for a more charming room, tons of space, a lovely bed with a memory foam mattress, modern flat screen Freeview TV, bath with power shower and everything seemed new and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable price of the room and seemed to consist of just about anything we could have asked for. I ended up ordering haddock on a bed of spinach in a Hollandaise sauce which was delicious. The proprietors Paul and Penny could not have been more hospitable and kind and even drove us to the station when it was time to leave as we were running rather late for our train!

The B&B is centrally located, just a five minute walk to the famous Leas and ten minutes from the old harbour, and has an adjacent car park available for guests. An excellent coffee machine is available for guests' use 24 hours a day along with soft drinks and fresh fruit is provided in case you need a healthy snack. We could think of no negatives to write about this excellent establishment and would unreservedly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay at a B&B in Folkestone.

Room Tip: There are three rooms, Burlesque, Love Letters and A Walk in the Park. All are beautifully decorate...

We stayed one night prior to leaving on the way to France, the owners were unfortunately for us having their half day off but Paul was very very helpful explaining everything on the phone, we stayed in love letters - really great room, well priced with many extras beyond the norm. Bed too hard for me though and gave me back ache. It was a Sunday night and Folkestone was basically shut, Paul did suggest a restaurant up the road which was the only one open but it was not greatly appealing so we ended up at tescos and eating in our room!

We stayed for the weekend to see friends and see the Red Arrows display. There are 3 rooms - we were in Burlesque so called because of the wallpaper pattern. The room was a good size very well laid out and furnished and the bed very comfortable. It has tea/coffee facilities and a good quality TV with a large range of channels - free wifi good strength also. The breakfast was faultless with choice and quantity to suit even the most discerning palate. We ate in the restaurant below in the evening and had an outstanding meal and a sweet from the sweet trolley - about a dozen choices all home made. Again the quality and amount was very good. The staff were, without exception, polite, well knowledged and helpful.

Room Tip: Nothing to choose all very good - noisy seagulls is the only downer.

My Husband and I stayed for 1 night on our way to France and arrived just in time to enjoy a wonderful meal in Paul's Restaurant before our stay in a fantastic room. Paul and Penny were very hospitable and obviously work very hard to achieve the standard they deserve. Will definitely book again!
