I have a labradoodle who wouldnt eat this cold inedible excuse for food absolutely disgusting . How can staff keep a straight face when people are going into the room described as a restaurant.! Room ok but probably queen victoria stayed here aged 6 as all so dated decor should be part of museum exhibit.

Room Tip: it was very warm last week and had to keep windows open all night which meant seagull screeching kep...

My husband and I having stayed at the Burstin in 2006 thought we would like to go back for our wedding anniversary could not believe we were in the same hotel ..On arrival room key thrown to you on the coach then told the policy is no portarage absolute chaos getting a lift ..Room grotty dirty carpet's decoration disgusting polysterine ceiling tiles grotty and stained ...NO HOT WATER took 3 days to sort this out ..We were lucky the weather was good as it was cold showers while we were there.Bedding filthy towel's grey and full of hole's should be white ..The shower head we had to tie with a shoe lace to keep it in place .Clean towel's was hit and miss as was coffee tea etc.. No apolgy from managment ..The passage ways were disgusting carpets all stained paper and paint work peeling away ..The doors look like they haven't been cleaned in year's .ROOM 457 don't stay in this room extractor's going all night ..refuse crusher start;s working at 4 30 in the morning the same time the delivery's start ....Beware when you go on the France and Belgium trip you will be queuing from the restaurant entrance to reception for your evening meal when you get back .At 7 20 pm from 7 00am in the morning all for the benefit of stopping in France for 30 minuets and 1 hour 30 minutes in Belgium this is a waste of a day .We upgraded to the Victoria restaurant as we had done on our first visit and we were so pleased we did as the people that we spoke to eating in the Harbour restaurant told us that a leak started on Monday night over the buffet section and was still not mended on Friday morning when we departed ...Everything was filthy in the cabaret room from dirty glasses to table's left dirty from people bringing takeaways into the room they are allowed to bring food in ... The staff in the Victoria restaurant the staff were excellant the rest of the staff were downright rude and unhelpful ...Entertainment rubbish ....MAJESTIC should inform there customer's that there long haul coach's have NO TOILET'S .they don't tell you that you have to change coach's..They also do not tell you that the lift's in this hotel are not big enough for wheel chair's ..

Me and my good stayed here whilst on a charity bike ride to Belgium http://www.freekicksfoundation.org/. When we arrived it was cold, wet and dreary. However the mood changed when we walked through the front door. Extremely pleasant and helpful staff helped us store our tandem in a back room and directed us to the buffet. The food was stunning. Just what we need after a hard days cycling. We couldnt have asked for me. Except maybe someone to dry our cycling gear which was soaked. Maybe we'll ask next year.

My wife and I have just spent a wonderful 5 day holiday at the Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkstone Kent. Our holiday was arranged by the coach holiday company Alpha, Our room was basic very clean, and had a beautiful view over the harbour, and we could even see the ferries and cruise ships leaving Dover harbour too. The restaurant we used was buffet style, which suited us, the choice of menu was good too. The evening entertainment included, bingo, live music and had a decent sized dance floor. The drinks prices were comparable with city centre pubs. There are many lovely places to see in this area of Kent and the Grand Burstin is the ideal place to base yourself, we will definitely visit this hotel again.

Room Tip: Pay a little bit extra for a room with a sea view, you wont regret it.

£70 dinner bed and breakfast for 2, we wondered just what we had booked. Ok the rooms are dated and the dinner hall is massive and like being at school but for the money i couldn't complain. Two of the tree lifts were broken so we took the stairs to 4th floor with seaview. There is plenty to do in the area with a great little street a few minutes away full of art and craft shops. At night i realised there was another huge room in the hotel with bands and bingo! For older generation or those with kids or on a budget i'd recommend the hotel, not quite what i'm used too but was enjoyable nevertheless. £5 for a wine and a beer.

We found the music was excellent, the dance floor was a bit too small for the amount of dancers, but we did enjoy the atmosphere. THE FOOD WAS UNEATABLE. ie: sprouts RAW, cauliflower RAW, roast potatoes Cold, boiled potatoes WARM, Yorkshire Pud COLD. Pork DRY, Gammon NOT COOKED.
The CREAM TEA consisted of FROZEN BUNS , I think they were buns, they may have been ROCK CAKES with the emphasis on the rock. Whatever, they were all still frozen. We are looking for another venue for our next outing.

Room Tip: Do not go there
