This is not the Ritz, but lets be fair, This Hotel is dated but where can you stay for 4 nights at 150.00 UK Pound for TWO.Bed and Buffet Breakfast. The rooms where good with sea views over the Harbour, The food was excellent, we payed extra and eat in the Victoria Restaurant, we could not fault the food, as much as you want to eat, and up and down as many times as you want. The Bars were good, both had entertainment on (one Bar Fri, Sat), with Cabaret, and the bars are late....... good location for Dover and Tunnel, and Duty Free, and Folkestone Town is not bad, every thing you want, we found the staff very helpful, you be nice to them and they will be nice to you......
SOME PEOPLE HAVE CHAMPAGNE TASTE AND LEMONADE POCKETS.....
You get what you pay for and this was good value for money, yes I would recommend this Hotel and I would come again... We had a good time and a good Laugh....

Room Tip: When you book ask for sea view, you may have to pay 5.00 per person extra but its worth it, also che...

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a national holidays trip. The hotel is a bit of an eye sore as you approach it. Tired and could do with a lick of paint. The inside was a little better but again has seen better days. That said it is a huge hotel with lots of people coming and going, using it as a stop off en route to France.
Room was adequate and clean, evening meal passable, reminded me of a school dinner however the salad choice was good. Shame there wasnt any tea or coffee to finish with.
Breakfast on morning 1 was good but changed on the 2nd morning and was not so good.
The Grand Burstin wouldn't be my first choice if I were to visit Folkestone in the future.

We stayed at this hotel the night before euro tunnel. Booked a twin room, got a small double for me and mum. I called the front desk and they changed it immediately. The twin room was bigger, dirtier and I cleaned the pubes from the bath before I got in for a shower the following day. The hotel is generally quite dirty. We went for an evening meal and were told the Victorian restaurant is very good. £12.50 each and it was appalling. We didn't eat...had some warm cheese and crackers after playing with some of the rubbery nasty food and a dessert. Went out for a while and got a drink when we came back to take to the room.

We couldn't open a window because the noise was ridiculous all night. Slamming doors I. The hotel sounded like in our own room, we could smell weed all the time we were there. At around the 1.30am the fire alarms were going off. No apologies from staff the next day.

Breakfast would have been ok if not for the 3 large hairs I found cooked into the eggs. All in all it was supposed to be a relaxing evening after the 267 mile drive down from Leeds in anticipation of a busy 2 days in Calais and Bruges. I was more tired the next day than I would have been if we would have just got the tunnel that night and stayed at the hotel we went to for the following in night in Calais! Lesson learned. AVOID!

Stayed as a couple for 4 nights. Excellent value for the price.
Staff are helpful. Rooms are of a good size with adequate facilities. In general the meals are very good, with a few exceptions - the fruit juices and the sausages at breakfast, and some of the vegetables at dinner.
Overall very reasonable. Would stay there again.

Disappointed about state of decoration. In fact it was the worst hotel we had stayed in from this point,of view. I think there was building work on the floor above us and when we arrived there was brick dust on the corridor and it was in need of a good hoovering. A poor first impression. We complained and the next day it was done. The rooms were cleaned every day, we had fresh towels and a sea view. It was cheap so I suppose you get what you pay for, but we have stayed in other Britannia hotels which were much better.

My friend and I though we would treat ourselves to a weekend away from it all and booked in on the Friday night until Breakfast Sunday morning.
We enjoyed the hotel the staff were friendly and helpful and although the room was a bit shabby it was clean and comfortable.
The food, although mediocre was plentiful, clean and well presented and the restaurant staff very helpful and obliging.
The entertainment on both nights by the resident band (a duo I think) was first class and made our evenings, plenty of dance music and choice. The caberet on both nights was good yet a little too loud and overpowering much louder than the other entertainers.
As we are quite local we didnt bring the car thank goodness as we both thought the way the car parking was charged and managed was rather forceful and intimidating as their didnt seem much choice or options other guests we noticed were visibly shocked and upset at the way the car park management was being handled.
All in all though, we had a good weekend and would definately come again for a short weekend break perhaps later in the year

We stayed here as a one night stop on the way to France via the Eurotunnel. It was a cheap room for the night. We arrived fairly late in the evening and just about managed to park in the hotel car park. There was a fair amount of atrocious parking, meaning it was very hard to park. We can't really blame the hotel for this, but it might help if they painted the lines when they faded away. The hotel looked quite lively with entertainment going on, although we were on a tunnel crossing the next day so were not interested in this.

The check in was fast and efficient by a very pleasant and helpful man. He gave us details on breakfast and directed us to our room. The room was a little outdated in places, although the furniture looking in fairly good shape. When folding back the covers, there were stains towards the edge of the bed, not a good look! The bathroom was dated and in need of modernisation, although it was clean with a decent shower.

The breakfast was self serve, it was quite plentiful, plenty of seating without having to queue more than a few seconds. The orange juice was rather watered down but everything else was pretty reasonable.

Overall, fairly reasonable service for a cheap rate.
