“A real hidden gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

We stayed here on Saturday 28th June & Henryka made us so welcome from the moment we arrived. She is such a lovely person that we felt like we were staying with a favourite Aunt in her lovely peaceful house. The house is set in beautiful gardens & the back garden, which seems to go on forever, is also a haven for lovely wild birds. The house from the front overlooks Folkestone harbour & town plus to the sides you can see the Downs which have plenty of signposted walks.
Henryka has paid a great deal of attention to what a guest would need during a stay so she hasn,t missed a single thing... dressing gowns, unlimited tea, coffee, fruit & fresh water are to hand as are the best quality toiletries in the bathrooms.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious & we began with fresh fruit salad , yoghurt, cereal, followed by a full English in whatever combination you required plus of course fruit juice, tea & coffee.
I have stayed at many hotels & guest houses throughout Europe & many of them have good facilities & tasty breakfasts but Henryka,s was the icing on the cake as i know how much she really wants her guests needs to be met..and they are in abundance!. We will definitely return but we can,t promise to leave!!!

Room Tip: If you prefer ensuite there are two to choose from. The Rose room at the back has a bathroom for thi...

We stayed here July 16i. We had the suite which had a great view of the extensive garden. The host is delightful to chat with - she's very knowledgeable about the area. Also quite accommodating. Had a shared bath. We didn't mind as there were no other guests. Highly recommended

Room Tip: Other rooms have ocean views but are a little smaller. Not small but we had a sitting room

Stayed 3 nights in June. Enjoyed room 4 on the first floor which was en suite and had great views across the town to the sea (and France). Very handy for walks along the Downs and sufficient free parking on site. Breakfast cooked to order and was comprehensive and plentiful. Henryka is a friendly hostess who is very eager to please, making sure that the guests have everything they need. The only down side is that it is quite isolated so you really need your own transport. Having said that you wouldn't get these views from a centrally located hotel. Would definitely recommend this B&B.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at Crete Down which is located on a quite street overlooking Folkestone.
Henryka is a wonderful host and she gave us many tips on places to visit and eat around the area. The Jackdaw in Denton being our pick.
Our room was clean and well appointed. Bed was comfy and shower was great.
Breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed chatting with Henryka and other guests.

Thank you Henryka, and hope you enjoyed Goodwood.

We had stayed there before and liked it. It is conveniently situated a few minutes drive to the Channel Tunnel shuttle, which was our reason for staying there, to catch it early the next morning. We had the pink room upstairs and although spacious and clean, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and we kept slipping towards the middle. Not a good start to a long drive through France the next day. In the evening, we shared the water of a bath but the next morning there was no hot water for a shower. Henryka is a good hostess and made us feel welcome, but the comfort and lack of hot water in the morning was very disapointing. Will stay somewhere else next time.

On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady, Henryka who invited us to take tea with her in her beautiful huge garden, where we sat in the sunshine chatting.

Our room was the Wedgewood Double en-suite, I have to say I have never slept in such a large bed, and my husband who is well over 6' appreciated the extra length for his legs. Our hostess then showed us around her lovely home as the other rooms at that time were unoccupied.

The room overlooked Folkestone and had a good sea view. Everywhere in the house, was clean and smelt fresh and inviting, the bathroom was a good size and certainly had everything we could have asked for, soft fresh towels, toiletries and other little touches.

This was a business weekend and Henryka was more than happy for us to have an early breakfast, which was a full english and as much tea/coffee, toast/bread as one could eat, we left after a hearty breakfast.

There is a free wifi which was useful to us and gave a good signal.

Henryka was very knowledgeable about the local area and recommended a local pub for dinner, which is all we wanted, and we were more than happy with that too.

Breakfast on our last day was shared with all her guests and it was a lively and chatty breakfast, and the poor lady was rushing about but everyone was happy and we almost felt like family by the time we had packed and were ready to leave.

I can honestly say I would recommend this bed and breakfast and would I go back, absolutely, I think I would like to stay in the Rose Double next time, as there is actually an area where we could work, and also had a small sofa which I could quite happily sit and read or do some cross stitch.

If your reading this Henryka thank you again and good luck with all your future plans.

Michael & Sheree
