“Peace and Tranquillity”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

Mottistone Manor is owned by the National Trust , the staff in the gift shop are the friendliest and most helpful that I have come across. The Gardens are are a place of peace to wonder around, the herbaceous border always a delight, and rose garden with a purple rose that I cant make my mind up if I like or not ! Spring has passed now but the blue bells and azaleas where delightful this year. There is an outside tea garden selling sandwiches, salads, tea and coffee at reasonable prices, cash only and not run by N.T. The toilets are clean and accessable close to the entrance and tea garden. The parking is free and there are some lovely walks to be had in the surrounding area. Some of the garden is on a slope with grass or stoney paths.
Well worth a visist on your way to the beach.

“Exceptional”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

This National Trust estate is a real delight to visit. The planting in the garden is lovely - a double herbaceous border that is exceptionally good. Lovely dreamy place to wander around discovering different views and hidden corners. Lovely al fresco café too.

“Lovely looking gardens”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

National trust property with a house that only opens one day a year. However the gardens on their own more than make up for this. Clearly the gardeners spend a huge amount of time in getting the look just right, and apart from a few muddy patches higher up the hill, very easy to walk around in under 2 hours.

Excellent little refreshment stall, and further walking around the estate is available. Car park surface and access is a bit rough though.

“Gardeners delight!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

At this time of year, late Spring, the well maintained garden is worth a visit. With benefit of free parking and pleasant walking across adjacent Mottistone Estate.

“Access for the disabled I think not”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2014

this garden is not suitable for elderly people with walkers. Crutches or walking difficulties the slopes are to great and the steps numerous. my Elderly mother was horrified and bearly made it to the tea garden . Staff could have warned us. They offered a wheel chair but did not say we would need sherpas to get her into the garden. A very expensive and disappointing visit. If disabled beware access is only to the gift shop, toilets and still a slope to the tea room. Wheel chair is available but this again will only take you to the tea room.
