“Fantastic Cream Tea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2014

My partner and I were out for a long walk and planning to get a bus back to Freshwater from Brighstone. The day was quite wet and we popped into Seven to grab a cuppa and some cake while we waited for the bus.

It was a quiet day, being off season at the time, but we were welcomed in and there was a lovely fire for us to dry off by. We had a cream tea each and it was excellent - the scones were really large, warm and tasty and there was plenty of jam and cream. It was also a very reasonable price which always cheers me!

The owner Carol was lovely and we had a good chat with her about the area and she was ever so helpful when we realised I had misread the bus timetable and we had missed our journey home.

We are definitely planning on going back to have a meal there sometime soon.

“Little Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

Stopped here for lunch and we were not disappointed! The fish and scampi that we had were delicious and the service was excellent. Sadly, we couldn't have afternoon tea but we will be back to sample that in the not too distant future. It's also a B&B so no excuse not to have dinner and a few drinks after that tea and crawl up to bed...now that's an idea........

“Overrated and Overpriced”

Chose the crab linguine, but had some problems locating or even tasting crab! The linguine base had a narrow strip of 'crab' paste consistency.

“Wonderful find. Would hurry back!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014 via mobile

Two adults two discerning children. We went on a quiet midweek evening and could have done with a few more people there. However, the warm welcome, smooth service and attention to detail made up for the normal buzz of full tables. The food definitely made it worth the visit! Steak cooked exactly as asked and tender and succulent. Crab linguine full of fresh crab meat. Fish and chips hot and crispy. And finally, a 'made to order' Thai prawn curry which was fresh, spicy and cooked to perfection.
The children were made very welcome and treated with genuine respect for their ages and interest. They were also blown away by delicious sticky toffee pudding and creamy ice cream. Our dog, who slept under the table all evening was very welcome and left with treats all her own at the end of the evening.
We were on the Island for three nights and ate at two local 'foody' pubs as well as 7. The food was average to very poor. The service bad to dire. And the cost was equal. Visit 7. We will definitely go back!

Stayed over night whilst doing the coast walk. I don't do long reviews so will cut to the chase. Quite simply, very good and well worth a visit!
