“Personal attention and great value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 March 2011

We had excellent communication with the owner of this bed and breakfast before our trip. The Undercliff is a stone's throw from the Western Ferry so it was easy to find, which was nice after such a long journey. When we arrived, our host, Rita, greeted us with a warmly and showed us to our room. The house in general has lots of charm; a wide staircase, leaded glass windows and a balcony that looks out over the Clyde. Our room was warm, clean and comfortable. While there were no frills, everything in the room seemed new and bright. There was plenty of hot water. The breakfast was very good and there was a lot of it! Would happily stay here again!

We were given a very warm welcome, stayed in lovely big room over looking the locking the sea, they put in bunkbeds for the children and were so helpful. There was a guest lounge with a balconey were we sat and watched the sailing boats go up into the Holly Loch. The whole stay was excellent, the breakfast set you up for the day, the room was lovely, they were fantastic with the children and excellent value. We had a wonderfull couple of fun packed days with the children in Dunoon, there is so much to see and do. Like the comments in their guest book we would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and we will be back again.

Stayed in a budget room for one night (had a wedding nearby). The room was a little basic but only £50 per night for the two of us, b+b. We were allowed in early to drop bags off and get ready before the wedding which was handy.

The owner is very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was nice and there was a good spread. Lovely view from the breakfast room.

Property is only about 100m from Hunters Quay ferry terminal (Western Ferry not CalMac).

If you were staying for more than one night it might be worth upgrading to a better room. We were just looking for somewhere to crash for the night so it didn't matter so much to us but the budget room was quite basic.

  • Liked — Good location
  • Disliked — Budget room a little basic
