“A lovely place to stay”

A great wee hotel! The owner is very friendly and welcoming, nice atmosphere all in all. The location's good as it's not on a main road so it's very quiet, and you can park right outside which is handy. Room was clean and the bed was comfy. The full Scottish breakfast is yummy and will keep you going. A very enjoyable stay!

Had a 3 night stay and have nothing at all negative to say! Sandra the owner was great giving us lots of tips about the area, restaurants etc! Bedroom was lovely with a very comfortable bed! Lovely big residents lounge with a gorgeous sea view to relax in. Breakfast cooked by Matt delicious, very good scrambled eggs! A very enjoyable stay and would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: If you want a bath rather than a shower ask for the room called Mull, but all the rooms are equally...

it can be difficult to find decent accomodation when you want to take your dogs with you , which is why we keep going back to the st ives , the rooms are clean , the breakfast is great and the dogs love the beach right on their doorstep , Dunoon has so much to offer , it's sad that it's becoming more and more forgotten .

Sandra and Matt were very pleasant hosts after having a disaster at the Glenmorag hotel. Lovely spotless room and excellent breakfast and local knowledge for us. Really enjoyed the stay with them.

Room Tip: Great cumbrae room for us was perfect, although a bit of a climb up three floors, but the view was w...

Got caught in one of the worst storms I can remember, on 8th December. We couldn't get home, as the ferry was off, and the Rest and be thankful was closed due to landslide, so had to try and find a pet friendly hotel. Tried West end, and they were fully booked, the hotel next door didn;t entertain pets at all, and we didn't get a great reception, but said that the hotel next door again, may take pets, so we tried St Ives, and a better welcome we couldn't have got. We got a lovely room, and in the morning a lovely hot breakfast. I would certainly recommend this friendly hotel to anyone.

We just had a lovely stay at the St Ives hotel, we were showed to the Great Cumbrae room, a lovely seaview en-suite, perfect for our stay.
The hotelier Sandra, was lovely, helpful and generally just very nice.
The breakfast was plentiful, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juices, toast, tea, coffee and full cooked. It was also made to order so was very fresh and delicious.
Ideally located, with good signs to help you find it.
