Everything was amazing added to the Christmas plus and treated ourselves to an anniversary present as well!
Food, room, place, views, hospitality amazing. Even had a bottle of red wine that I enjoyed - I'm a white wine drinker!
Originally going to have our dinner out the second night but when we discovered how far it was out out town decided to have meal in - excellent choice.
The drive reminded us a bit of Lombard Street - more excitement!

Room Tip: A room at the front you have an amazing view.

My husband, Percy the dog and I stayed here at Abbots Brae for a weeks holiday in September and it was nothing short of delightful. Both Colin and Christine are fantastic, Christine for her knowledge and enthusiasm for the local area and Colin for his excellent culinary skills! Our room was spotless, bathroom perfect and the views were magic - a room with a sea view is highly recommended, we unintentionally sat for hours watching boats coming and going. The garden really is full of red squirrels and my husband was lucky enough to see a deer one morning whilst taking Percy out - did I mention that this hotel is dog friendly? Very dog friendly in fact! Percy was treated to his own blanket and bowl, plus biscuits on arrival and although he couldn't join us for dinner (for understandable reasons) we we're able to dine in our room with him on a few occasions and when the other guests were happy, he joined us in the lounge for a drink. We can't wait to return!

Note: a trip to Otterferry will be a highlight if stunning scenery and tranquil surroundings are your thing. Plus the pub there is excellent!

Room Tip: A sea view is essential to really make the most of Abbots Brae

We stayed here in summer and it was magical. The grounds are amazing, and loved the wildlife and the walks to the fairy glen. The hotel itself is first class, well appointed, clean and very comfortable. Christine was a real " people person " and made us so welcome we felt like part of the family. The meals were excellent, and really imaginative vegetarian options, a rare find. Nothing was too much trouble, and we have hooked our return already. Highly recommend.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough, the warm welcome from Colin and Christine, to the food, location, views and cleanliness. Absolutely nothing was too much effort. It was our third visit and we will be back soon. Thanks again Christine and Colin for an excellent break.

A group of us took over the hotel for a weekend. Colin and Christine provided both accommodation and catering for my son's wedding, we had a wonderful time. Their hospitality ensured the wedding party had a celebration to remember for all the right reasons.

The location is stunning and we all enjoyed watching the red squirrels playing in the trees, the deer quietly grazing in the garden and the panoramic view was breathtaking. I actually witnessed the riptide coming in, a spectacular phenomenon and the conditions were just right.

If your thinking of having a small quiet family wedding then look no further. I'm so glad my son and his new bride chose to come to Dunoon, rather than the now commercialised conveyer belt of bridal parties, that is Gretna Green.

Room Tip: Bridal suite, or the one across from it, the rooms are huge and the views spectacular.

We enjoyed a really lovely overnight stay at the Abbot's Brae Hotel last weekend with our little spaniel Poppy. Our room was beautiful, very clean and comfortable. Poppy was thrilled to see a cosy blanket, food bowl and doggy biscuits waiting for her on arrival! Breakfast was delicious and we were lucky enough to get a window table where, in addition to the stunning views, we saw a red squirrel run past. Thank you Colin and Christine for a very enjoyable stay in your lovely hotel.
