“Stunning location, excellent cottage”
Reviewed 10 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Benmore Byer is everything the other reviews say it is!!
The cottage itself is set on a working farm, which my kids loved, we were there over the Easter holidays and there was plenty going on with lots of calves and lambs.
The cottage itself was very well appointed with plenty of equipment and a dishwasher which is great when you are family of five! The rooms were all very comfortable with a log burner in the lounge which we didn't use because the weather was so good.
The surrounding area has plenty to offer, lots of good walks, about a mile down the private road from the farm is Loch Eck which is worth a look also Puck's Glen i think this was my favourite walk it has a magical feel to it. There is also the Botanic Gardens right on your door step with free tickets provided from the owners and its definitely worth taking a look.
Last but by no means least was the lovely welcome we received from the owners Neil and Kayren, a big thank you to you both especially to Neil with helping find a vet when our dog hurt herself and most of all for letting me feed the baby lambs.

Without a shadow of a doubt this is one of the best places we've ever stayed. The cottage is extremely well equipped and welcoming with spectacular views and stunning walks. The owners, Neil and Kayren can't do enough for you. Fresh Free Range eggs on arrival too! The kids loved it, the dogs loved it and we loved it, so much so we have immediately booked for next year. You WON'T be disappointed.

“A cosy retreat in winter”

I stayed here with two friends and the weather was not the best but the cottage was a wonderful place to stay. Everything was immaculate and the wood burner in the living room was the highlight of our stay. One of our guests was in a wheelchair and she found the cottage ideal: a downstairs bedroom, wide doorways, no steps and a bathroom on the ground floor. The patio overlooking the valley was superb. We also ate out at nearby restaurants and the food was absolutely superb. The owners provided free range eggs, a bottle of Prosecco and plenty of logs for the fire. If you like peace and quiet, a spectacular view, a warm and cosy place to stay, then this is the place for you. Pets welcome too.

“Fantastic accommodation with beautiful views”

This cottage is excellent with beautiful views. The cottage is done to a very high standard and is spotlessly clean. The owners Kayren and Neil were very welcoming. It's on a working farm and therefore managed to watch Neil working his sheep. It's very near Benmore gardens and lock Eck so great for walks near by. If you want beauty and tranquility looking onto the Scottish hills and forest this is ideal. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked for next year.

“A lovely holiday home in gorgeous surroundings”

I would recommend Benmore Byre unreservedly! The accommodation is first rate with lovely extra touches, and there is a great balcony / decked area outside the kitchen where, take it from me, you can spend ages gazing at the surrounding hills and woodland. we spotted deer and red squirrels too. Fantastic walks around Loch Ech and Benmore Gardens which are literally on the doorstep. Appreciated the complementary tickets to the Gardens.

The owners are lovely. It was great for all of us to see a top-class shepherd at work with his dogs.
One of our family has CP and the accommodation was really accessible for him.
