“Great facilities and location let down by a lack of attention in pre-arrival cleaning.”
Reviewed 20 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We stayed on the upper floor. The location is ideal for exploring Argyl and the Western highlands. The property is delightful, much roomier than we expected and well equipped with lovely views at front of Holly Loch and a secluded but very interesting garden to the rear. The only caveats I would have is that it was clear we were the first visitors for a while from the musty air in the property and the dust and cobwebs we encountered on arrival. Both these problems were soon rectified by opening the Windows for a thorough airing and dusting the place down but really this should have been taken care of prior to our arrival. Secondly the gardens lovely as they are contain not one but two ponds the first is small and pretty obvious but the second is a much larger one and surprisingly well hidden given its size at the top of the garden by the very mature plants surrounding it which add to the joy of discovering it by accident when we first arrived. Whilst there are signs warning about this large pond those with very young children would need to ensure the children kept away from this unless closely supervised.
Other than these slight niggles I'd definitely recommend this property as it is full of charm with a very unique character.

Liked best: The charming nature of the property and it's gardens add well as it's generous size
Liked least: The fact the property was very dusty when we arrived so we had to clean it ourselves

“A lovely home from home”
Reviewed 9 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

This was a lovely place to stay the property was much larger than we expected and we were very happy staying here. Myrtlebank was well equipped with everything you could need whilst staying there. The beds were comfortable and it was lovely and warm. The views out of the windows were lovely and we didn't really want to come home ! We will be booking myrtlebank again.

“Great Base for Exploring Western Isles and Highlands”

We stayed in the upstairs flat (site refers to downstairs flat only) and were well satisfied with the location, decor, and facilities. The flat has recently been renovated, and has entirely new TV, kitchen appliances etc. The views of Holy Loch from the front window in the kitchen/lounge and bedroom are stunning.

The Agent was prompt and courteous in meeting us with the key on arrival, and whilst we didn't need to call on his services during our stay, put himself at our disposal in case of any issues.

Whilst there was ample space for the two of us, it may be a little congested for parties of more than two - although I would assume there is ample space in the downstairs flat.

The only downside was that the pub in Sandbank was closed the whole time we were there (apparently in between owners) and so if we wanted to go out for food or a drink, one of us had to drive and have a dry evening.
