We were gutted when the owners of many years sold up. The then new owners ........ well the less said the better. We thought this treasure was gone for good, however, it has been bought by brilliant minds and reopened in January. I've been meaning to write this review for some time.

The decor is bright and welcoming as are the staff. They have produced wonderful menus (we had to sample both more than once). The food is fantastic, fresh seasonal produce and a chef that can not only cook but actually understands that a salad does not constitute lettuce, tomatoe and cucumber alone. If we could afford to we would eat there every night.

If you are not from the area, I can't recommend highly enough the short drive from Dunoon to Innellan, which is beautiful in its own right. The views from the restaurant are spectacular. The perfect setting for any meal/occasion.

If I had to offer any criticism it would be children being allowed to run about. In fairness, this is hardly the fault of The Osborne staff but the parents of said children who seem oblivious. Perhaps having an area for families with children, particularly in the evenings would be an idea? Small loud children after 8pm is a bit much when you have paid babysitters to have a quiet romantic meal out. This is a problem in many restaurants, not this wonderful establishment alone.

A tiny negative in what otherwise have been fabulous dining experiences.

Would recommend phoning to make a reservation as word is spreading quickly and it is one of the 'Must Go To' eating destinations in the area, you don't want to be disappointed getting there to find it is already fully booked, which has happened to us but only once.

We are delighted The Osborne is back and better than ever before!

Keep up the great service. Without a doubt, we will be back many many times in the future.

Hi Elaine M. What a fantastic and heart felt review. So pleased we have turned this beautiful old building around and that you clearly are enjoying what we have to offer. We always accept slight tweaking suggestions and I understand where you are coming from with regards to little angels!!! I can only hope that this doesn't put you of coming. It's not very often that parents let them free to run around etc... Once again, thanks you for a glowing review and touch wood we will be here for many years to come. Pete.

Unexpected dishes on offer along with classic Scottish fare. Warm, attentive service, very generous portions and lovely views from the restaurant of the River Clyde. Definitely worth the visit. Great desserts too.

Hi Ritchissimo. Thanks for your kind review of our new venture. The Osborne has been here for many years under different guises, some good and some not so. Hopefully with the team we have with us now, The "New" Osborne can go from strength to strength and with everyones continued support I really hope so. Again, thank you, Pete.

Since this establishment has been taken over by the new owners Elliot and Pete it has went from strength to strength the food and the view is fantastic as you can see by the pictures attached and you will receive a warm and friendly welcome from all the staff.
You can even make up your own theme nights like country and western as we did for a certain persons fortieth birthday and the staff will join in.
We cannot recommend this place high enough and we have never been disappointed with the service or the food

We've just had our first lunch at the Osbourne and it was agreed by our party of six (and one toddler) that the food and service were excellent! Our friend from Brighton said they were the best mussels in sauce he's ever tasted, the child's portion was very generous (as were the adult ones) and the dietary needs of two of the party were taken seriously and they were able to eat out enjoyably!
The resteraunt was warm and clean, service prompt and the food arrived quickly and cooked well, the staff were cuteous and kind! Book to avoid disappointment, we'll be eating there again!

Visited on sunday 27th of April for a coffee with my partner. Staff were really pleasant and friendly. But both lattes were lukewarm and £10 for two lattes and two small slices of cake was a bit steep. Didn't want to moan about it though because the girls were so nice. We will call again though.

Hi Stornoway791, really sorry that your coffee's were lukewarm and I would really have appreciated you saying something at the time. It would have taken no more than a couple of minutes to rectify this for you. Hope to see you on your next visit, Peter.

Over the last few weeks my husband and I have been lucky enough to have both lunches and evening meals at the Osborne either on our own or in the company of others and on each occasion the food and the service has been fantastic. For the quality of the food, it is really reasonably priced and this restaurant is already a favourite haunt of the locals. We cannot recommend it highly enough and are very happy that is so near to where we live so we can visit often! We would like to say well done and thank you to the owners and staff.
