“Poor service. Told there was no soup left...”
Reviewed 21 August 2010

Poor service. Told there was no soup left only to find the couple who ordered after us received a bowl of soup. We sat inside and when out tea and cake arrived we asked if it would be okay to take it outside with the response 'well it just means I'll need to clear another table'. Not what the customer wants to hear. Will not be back.

“Good, freshly made food at a reasonable price”
Reviewed 8 August 2010

During a drive through Dunkeld found this small cafe on Cathedral Street just off the main street. Service was quick and friendly. Food was made on the spot to order. Reasonable quantity but food was excellent, especially the home made coleslaw and soup. All in well worth the stop if you are in the area. Go on, spill the beans, tell your friends about this place.

“Rude gentleman”
Reviewed 6 July 2010

arriving in Dunkeld on a lovely sunny morning we decided we would enjoy a cup of coffee before exploring the area, our friend went into the cafe and asked if they had any outside sitting area as it was glorious and we were shown out to a very quaint back yard with some table and chairs. We ordered from the menu cups of tea and coffee a piece of lemon drizzle cake and a biscuit dipped in chocolate(cant remember what flavour). The cake was ok but the biscuit arrived in a wrapper which was disappointing( it would have looked better out of the wrapper).
Finishing we made our way out of the cafe as the other table had been taking and other people were looking for tables. As we approached the counter there was three people waiting to be served and there was not a lot of room three of us thanked the elderly gentleman behind the counter and left making more room at the counter my wife was left to pay the bill. When the gentleman saw three of us leave he remarked in a loud and gruffy voice that we had not payed the bill insinuating that we were leaving without settling our bill. My wife who was still at the counter informed him that three of the party had left to make more room for more customers to come in, he made no effort of appologising and if this is the normal attitude they take to customers then should not be working in front of the public.
Needless to say we did not leave a tip.

“A must-visit cafe in Dunkeld”
Reviewed 17 June 2010

This is a regular place for us when we visit the area. On our most recent visit we noticed the sign said they were dog-friendly and as we had the dog with us we asked if that was the case. Yes - they have a separate room so that the dog-averse will not be inconvenienced. Unlike other establishments this did not mean we were tucked away out of sight and forgotten. A bowl of water was served to the dog before we even thought to ask. The service to the humans was every bit as good as in the main part of the cafe. Others have spoken about the excellent food. Soup, a sandwich (well presented with a tasty side salad) and a coffee and cake made an excellent meal late afternoon for two people who had been on the go since breakfast. Cannot fault and would recommend to anyone.
