Lovely homemade soup and a delicious Ploughman's lunch, everything very fresh.
Amazing selection of homemade Jams and Chutneys - The Blueberry and Apple Jam was yum!

“Shameless”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Visited with a friend. We both ordered fruit tea loaf with our coffee. The menu described this as 2 slices per serving. We were given the thinnest slice of cake or loaf I've ever seen - paper thin to the extent it fell apart when lifted from the plate. The price? - £2.85. I suppose it shows some dexterity to slice a loaf so thinly. It also shows a cynical disrespect for customers. I would have complained but didn't want to embarrass my friend. We will not be going back.

A fantastic range of unusual scones baked daily. Service was quick and excellent. Lovely coffee and tea. It has it all!

“Great place - definitely recommend”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

I am very surprised to read some recent negative reviews re service at this place.

We visited yesterday and were greeted as we entered, served by a pleasant young girl, and our payment was taken by a friendly older lady. Al three were welcoming and helpful.

Place is very clean and well laid-out. Menu is simple and easy to understand. Food presentation was excellent. I couldn’t have asked any more. Four of us had an open sandwich with salad, plus a drink, with bill coming to £27, which is reasonable, in my view. Recommend the local salmon fished from the River Tay, 300 yards away from café.

I would go back again with pleasure.

“Desint Coffee, bad service, rude”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

Walked in the door, didn't get a Hello had to ask if we just take a seat, just got a yes in a blunt unprofessional manner.

Waitress finally got to us and had 1 scone left very limited options, was very blunt and couldn't get a smile out of her.

Coffee arrived quite fast and very nice we decided not to eat here due to bad service.

Not hard to have a positive attitude and smile and be nice!! Won't be back
