“Wedding”

Excellent venue Very quiet and beautiful setting. River Tay ran just outside it with plenty scenery. Parking was difficult but we had a lovely walk around the mound to the car park.

“Why go?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

This is a ruin in bad condition although getting maintenance at the moment. It has an adjoining church of Scotland. The setting is pleasant beside the river and the grass is well maintained. There is limited historical interest and the ruin is...well, just a ruin. Why go?

“Past and present”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

Lovely 15th century ruins currently being renovated with gorgeous views along the River Tay. Part is still being used for worship by The Church of Scotland. We heard the choir practicing for a wedding that was getting ready to start. Rustic yet elegant surroundings. We also saw the bagpiper getting ready to lead the wedding processional.

Though scaffolding and renovations interrupted some viewing, I was very impressed with the museum and found much good information there for my research.

“A view of the past with current worship available.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014

I enjoyed sitting in on a practice of the handbell choir. Half of the Cathedral is in ruin and the other half is preserved and used for worship. The contrast is striking and moving as well as educational.
