“Stupendous”

if you are in the area, or even if you are not, do make the effort to visit this abbey if you are even just a little interested in old buildings, religious architecture or amazing remains of a very clever group of people. Drive round the corner to a gob smacking sight. Plenty of parking, although they have packed an awful lot of spaces in. Adjacent tea rooms (really good tea for a change), Pleasant staff at the abbey, a good gift shop and well tended grounds. very highly recommended, whatever your age. Tip - with entrance fee you receive a voucher which can be exchanged for three pounds off a very good guide book normally retailing at four pounds fifty.,

Make sure you make a trip here for a serene setting, and the local restaurant is quite good as well.

“Cistercian simplicity in a hidden valley”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

The outside high walls and windows of the cathedral and some lesser remains of the many many other buildings and annexes (cloister, infirmary, chapter, abbey's house, ...) are standing in mysterious and magnificent glory in the Welsh light. This is simply a beautiful place. Breath it's peace.
