“More then just a place to stay”
Reviewed 9 November 2013

I had a nice experience at Aisling B&B. First the room was really nice and the house was cozy. The breakfast was good as well with somewhat like a 1000 different breakfast cereals and of course, a full Irish breakfast.

But it's not because of that Aisling B&B stands out. Generosity and engagement doesn't seem to be enough to describe the couple that runs the hostel. They really want you to feel like home and are doing that extra small things to make you have pleasant stay! On top of that it's always nice to have a chat with the locals when you are traveling. I will not forget this place!

Attended a wedding with friends in Kilshane nearby. Stayed in this B&B. Booking was straightforward, Marion the proprietor was very helpful. She offered to drop us to Kilshane which is was generous. Rooms were good, all necessaries there. Breakfast was good, and prepared according to when we got up. Marion and her husband were very welcoming, couldn't have been more helpful. I must compliment their attention to service.

I should start with a positive, the couple were nice friendly and helpful. The accommodation was awful the gutters had not been cleaned in probably years and as it had just rained it was impossible to enter the house without getting drenched. The whole house is in a run down state is dirty with cobwebs everywhere and a smell of musty dampness in the bedroom. My daughter insisted in sleeping in her clothes as she said the bed was damp. There was jam pots in the dining area that had been half used but were left out for us to use, there was jam running down the outside of the very sticky jars. The sugar was dirty with what looked like instant coffee mixed in with it and the bowl was dirty. When we woke after a very uncomfortable night my wife said she would not use the bathroom and was definitely not eating breakfast here. We told the owners we were very unhappy and she said she would only charge us half price, my wife responded that she was not paying and the owner responded "fine" and walked away.

Room Tip: Would not recomend it

Oh boy where do we start......house from hell. This property was cold, damp, bugs, spider webs, etc., the furniture all felt like there was a greasy feel, they offered wine which was in greasy bottles, the stunning cereals displayed in cereals boxes, cutlery and plates where dirty.
Our daughter had a asthma attack, Marion offered us to find somewhere else, but we couldn't afford to loss that money and pay for somewhere else. The bathroom was terrible, the toilet mat looked like it wasn't washed for at least five or ten years, it was sickly. So she moved us to a slightly better room.
Me and my husband stayed awake all night sitting up in the bed, while our daughter slept on me and not on the bed, you would put the lamp on and there was spider webs with bugs under the light shade, the toilet you couldn't sit on it normally, otherwise your knees would touch the wall paper in the bathroom, which was dirty.
The morning couldn't come quick enough, but then we looked at the toast and it was mouldy and the bread slice felt a week old. We left sleep deprived and hungry.
Marion said Trip advisor has them in the top ten, well with all of the so good feed back and the visitors book not signed by different people, it's a stay from hell. Since we booked it the photo wasn't right, know she's changed it. Trip advisor this isn't good at all. BEWARE. I couldn't imagine anyone loving this place.

Room Tip: Think twice.....

You could not find two nicer people that could run a B+B and very helpful people. It was a rainy day when we arrived and it was cold and damp. Marian invited us in to sit us by the fire to warm us up. It was a dilightful room and we were invited to some complimentary wine after our dinner at the local pub. The fire was really going when we returned from dinner. Breakfast was great and the Irish pudding was the best that I tasted in the two weeks of B+B's in Ireland. However, I have to agree in part with the review of Wrongly45. I will not repeat what that review had to say.
We were happy that we did receive a heating pad to keep us warm in bed. Good luck to both Marian and Bob. They are nice people.

Room Tip: Shower size was good for a big man

I confirm what I can read in many other reviews, Marian is very nice and friendly with her guests. She does her best to make you feel good, and she gives you detailed instructions to visit awesome places around Tipperary. The food (tea time and breakfast) was fabulous, the room we had was very nice, everything was perfect for us and our litlle daughter. Such a nice place to stay !
