Couldn't fault it. Wasn't sure what to expect but was hugely pleasantly surprised. Rooms felt v loved. Great location. Big ensuite. Beautiful full English. Bob and Annabelle great hosts. Ignore the one bad review and trust all. the others.

Bob and Annabel were very welcoming and genuinely concerned that we were comfortable and happy. We had room number three, a clean and cosy room with a double bed, en suite shower, tea/coffee tray and small TV . The room rate of £60 per night included a full and very generous breakfast and another excellent point was that there was parking on the property. (Our friends stayed in The Bridge and had to park some distance away in a public parking area). We recommend this guest house with no hesitation and would certainly stay there again.

Whenever I've been to Hay in the past, I've found it rather snooty and expensive, but this trip was very different. Bob and Annabel are a friendly couple - we stayed in the attic room - very cosy and comfortable. The breakfast was the best that we had on our trip away - cereal and fruit and yoghurt and an excellent full English to follow. The price was very competitive as well.

This was our first visit to Hay and Annabelle at La Fosse made us very welcome right from the start. Our room was clean and comfortable. Annabelle recommended The Blue Boar to eat and this was a good choice as Hay generally is not a cheap place to eat. We booked the room back in September as we were walking Offa's Dyke and were told that it was a good move as our stay co-incited with the Welsh Show with a lot of places full.
The breakfast was excellent and we were able to choose a vegetarian option.
Quirky and.a real delight - the friendliest place we have stopped in ever I think.
Definitely to be recommended.
Hay is also a real find with it's bookshops and quaint buildings.

Room Tip: Book early especially if you plan to visit in July as we did.

Room and shower etc. great - all very clean.

Annabel kindly gave me a lift to an out of town shop that sold bicycle brake blocks.

In the morning, we found we had a puncture and spent quite a lot of time fixing it - our room has been cleaned but we were allowed back in the wash our hands after the repair.

All in all, a very pleasant and stress free stay - would definitely recommend this B&B.

We came to Hay because of the books! We had not pre arranged accommodation and saw this little place which was well situated and tried our luck. Met by Bob who was delightful -found us a room at the top of the old house. Small spiral steep stairs took us up to an 'attic' room with low uneven pitched roof with the most comfortable beds. This is a very old house, lovingly maintained with as much character and warmth that you could ever wish for. If you want squares and rectangles and flat floors -go to a hotel -it doesn't get better than this if you want to feel cosy and relaxed. We met Annabel a little later on -just like Bob -delightful -what a lovely warm and sincere couple - The breakfast was delicious and plentiful -set us up for the day. Shower was hot. Hay itself is a lovely little village and well worth a visit if you are driving through to Wales. I am sure there are other nice places to stay in Hay but if we are fortunate to come back we will look no further than this absolute gem.

Very relaxed B&B - they didn't even take a deposit which was a first for me. Lovely comfortable room. Excellent breakfasts. Really well located in Hay - both for walking and for exploring the town and the bookshops.
