A very cool honesty bookstore set below the castle. I found a couple of books I've been after for a while.

There is an out-door honesty bookshop - settled in the ruins of the castle in the book town Hay-On-Wye.

“No Longer there”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2013

Sadly the quirky 'royal' bookstore is no longer with us. King Richard has abdicated and the castle is now owned by a charitable trust and is going to be developed into a visitor 'attraction' for Hay. The area that was his royal Highness' book shop has already been renovated and is in fact a rather beautiful space, most recently used as the venue for a New Years party. A pop-up store has opened in the high street and vestiges of the reign of King Richard are still visible there along with a sample of the king's more select books.
