“Honest, traditional farm house in a magical setting, the kids loved it”
Reviewed 4 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The house is located down some winding country roads with easy access to Hay-on Wye as well as all the adventurous activities that the area has to offer. We booked a few days open canoeing and gorge walking at Black Mountain Adventures and the kids had a great time.
The house can be a bit tricky to find and our sat nav tried to take us through a field so beware of the directions but the house is delightful and very comfortable. Its well run and one of the nicest holiday rentals we've had over the years.

“Comfortable, well equipped cottage in excellent rural location.”
Reviewed 9 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

My book group friends and I had a fantastic stay in New House while enjoying the Hay Festival. Richard was helpful and friendly both before and during our stay and the house is very comfortable and well equipped. Previous reviewers have described the location of the cottage but it is difficult for descriptions or photos to do justice to the beautiful garden and countryside that surround New House. We spent many happy hours sitting relaxing and enjoying the peace and the views in between trips into Hay for culture, good eating and shopping. I would definitely book this cottage again.

Liked best: Standard of cottage decor, furniture, equipment etc. It feels like a family home.
Liked least: Only some very slight niggles e.g. leaking kitchen tap.

“A delightful few days”
Reviewed 19 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

My wife and I spent a few days with our daughter, her husband and our 2 delightful grandchildren. New house is located in a superb location, must be seen to appreciate it, in a quiet elevated position above the beautiful Wye Valley with amazing views down the valley towards the majesticBlack Mountains. Sitting in the conservatory observing birds of prey and foxes with loved ones was a delight. The cottage is well equipped, interesting working out how to use some appliances but always a delight and the wood burner in the lounge was so cosy each night. A wealth of board games for evening entertainment was quite nostalgic. Delightful walks easily accessible from the front door. Great if you have a dog. A wonderful find. We will return.
