“Lovely guest house - good value for money, best breakfast EVER!!!!”
Reviewed 10 October 2011 for a stay in October 2011

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Stoneridge and were really impressed. The room rate was £70 per night including breakfast which was extremely good value for money.

The guest house is located in a quiet residential area close to the centre of Buxton with private off-road parking.

Everything is of a high quality, from the "boutique style" decor, to the hospitality tray, which was replenished daily and included a bottle of Buxton water, Bendick's mints, Border biscuits and even a sachet of Horlicks!

Claire is a very welcoming and friendly host, giving the guests just the right level of attention, and Hamish the Westie is a wee star!

The breakfast was exceptional, I can honestly say it's the best breakfast I've had anywhere to date! Innocent smoothies made such a refreshing change from the usual bog standard orange juice, and I've never seen such a vast array of fresh fruit before, including strawberries, cherries, blueberries, redcurrants, melon and pineapple. I was also impressed with the local yogurts and yummy Chatsworth marmalade and jam. There was also a good choice of cooked food on the menu - as a full English breakfast is too much for me, I opted for scrambled egg on toast and bacon & mushroom on toast, which were cooked to perfection, Claire's generous portions fillling us up for a day's rambling in the beautiful Peak District. As well as tea and coffee, there was a varied selection of Twinings fruit and herbal teas on offer.

There was a selection of walking maps and guide books available to borrow as well as a folder containing reviews of local restaurants by the hosts which encouraged guests to add their reviews - we found this really helpful as we sometimes struggle finding somewhere to eat in the evening.

To sum up, we will definitely return to Stoneridge next time we're in the area and would highly recommend this guest house.

“Lovely b and b. Amazing meal”
Reviewed 28 September 2011 for a stay in September 2011

Had a lovely three nights here. Very clean and the breakfasts are plentyful. We ate dinner there on the first night and the meal was amazing! Would of eaten there every night but felt we should try other places.

We ate in the Lone star bar and grill which was good and has a nice family atmosphere. St Mortiz Italian was also good.

“The Perfect Guest House”
Reviewed 25 September 2011 for a stay in September 2011

My wife & I stayed at Stoneridge for a couple of nights September 2011.
The house was chosen through Tripadvisor & we believe cannot be beaten. It is beautifully appointed, modern yet traditional with character & style.

Immaculate & clean with friendly & helpful owners who also suggested many places of interest to visit & good local restaurants. The also will provide evening meals if required.
Hamish the Westie was most welcoming.

Breakfast choice was superb & the cooking top notch. Don't read any negative reviews - this is one of the best guest houses you'll stay in!

“Can't be beaten!”
Reviewed 29 August 2011 for a stay in August 2011

It was a treat to return to Stoneridge, with Claire's unfailing welcome and friendliness. We immediately feel at home and are sad to leave. Her cooking is superb, with a wonderful spread for breakfast of all types of fruit, cereal and yogurts followed by any combination of ingredients for a full English. This certainly takes you through the day to one of her magnificent dinners, at a mutually convenient time. The guest house is immaculate and attractively decorated, with comfortable rooms and all amenities. It is superbly situated for the Opera House and Pavilion Gardens and just a stroll from the shops and station. We're already looking forward to our next stay and have recommended it to friends. Special thanks for the ginger conserve!

“First Class”
Reviewed 24 August 2011 for a stay in August 2011

Our second visit here and just as good as the first. The rooms are beautifully decorated and clean; good variety of in room drinks plus biscuits and even chocolate mints which we;ve never had anywhere else. Since our last visit wi-fi internet is available at no cost which we found very useful. The choice at breakfast is wonderful - not the place to start your diet and Claire will cook dinner Monday - Friday - just order at breakfast time - and just as good as breakfast. Stoneridge is situated just a short walk from the Opera House and Pavilion Gardens and the station is also not far if you wish to use the trains. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but faiing that, Hamish, the family westie will be happy to keep you company. We've already recommended Stoneridge to friends and hope this will not be our last visit.

“Great destination for families”

We recently spent another short break at Stoneridge Guest House with family and friends. Stoneridge is close to many family-friendly attractions and beautiful countryside. Claire and Andrew have made us feel exceptionally welcome on each visit to Stoneridge and take trouble to ensure the lovely clean guestrooms are laid out to accommodate our growing families. We have benefited from Claire's excellent cooking and flexibility, and are very grateful for the efforts taken to ensure there is breakfast available for early-rising children and tea provided at times to suit us. We can recommend Stoneridge highly and will soon be planning a return trip ourselves.

“Faultless B&B”
Reviewed 9 July 2011 for a stay in July 2011

Faultless is how I would describe this B&B!! The location is less than 5 minutes from the town centre and the owners are more than happy to recommend places to eat. The room facilities are top notch and the bed (in our room) very comfortable with a selection of pillows.

I would definitely recommend this B&B to family and friends and it would be my first choice if I visit Buxton again.
