“Definately worth a visit”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

This is a good everyday restaurant - must be as we had to wait for a table. Prices were average, had the wraps with chips, but the special - lamb hotpot looked delicious - my friend had that had she said it was packed full of meat and would have done her two days. Service was good, we were able to move to a table away from the door, once there was one available. Good choice on the menue too.

“Nice cake but coffee could be better”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

A fairly pricey latte coffee and a slice of cake were OK but the coffee was nothing to write home about. My wife said the cake was moist and tasty but the coffee rather bitter (and as she is from South America the home of coffee she knows what she is talking about). Homely surroundings and pleasant staff.

“Delicious food”
Reviewed 25 March 2014

One of my favourite cafes, ever. The food is always good. Not much room to sit down but it doesn't matter, think of it as cosy and personal.

“BEST breakfast ive ever had”
Reviewed 12 March 2014

Went here for breakfast on saturday and were greeted by lovely cheery staff. great selection of food on both breakfast and lunch menu so had breakfast to eat in and came back for a take away lunch later! the food was all local produce and so tasty. fantastic HUGE breakfast and the coffees are cheap compared to the high street prices in cafe nero and costa round the corner from this cafe. you WILL be distracted by the amazing home made cake selection as you go in but i definitely recommend having a meal too. the Goats cheese tart was particularly good to take away with a selection of salads, all home made again. A friend i went with was also looking for gluten free and the older lady was very helpful in showing what was ok for her to eat and making something up especially for her. its in a fantastic little spot next to the slopes and park in Buxton- a perfect place to eat your take away food. overall i really recommend this place for its warm welcomes, lovely food and great service!

“Soggy”
Reviewed 10 March 2014 via mobile

A very disappointing lunch. We opted for the sandwich and salad meals (over £7 each for a sandwich!). When they arrived, there was a mixture of different salads on the plate which looked nice, but there were so many things going on it was difficult to appreciate. There was pasta, potato, coleslaw, pomegranate, pineapple, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, mayo, vinaigrette, sweetcorn, chilli dressing, hummus and more...all in different dressings and sauces. Too much stuff cramped together. Didn't go well. The main problem was that all of the water and juices from this lot was swimming about on the plate. Loads of it. And as a result, the sandwiches were waterlogged. Totally. Maybe if they reduced the ridiculous variety of ingredients so that the tastes actually go together and maybe serve it in a bowl so that the sandwiches are ok it would be better. But I'm not happy having paid £40 for 4 lunches that were pretty poor all in all.
