After staying two nights in an appalling 4 star hotel hotel in Wales it was a joy to find a comfortable and above all clean place to stay the night. We slept very well and the breakfast was good although the croissants were very solid and heavy going. The owner was a bit unsmiling when we arrived but very pleasant the next morning. The owners have made lots of improvements since they arrived I'm told, but the electric shower in my top floor room should be pensioned off - had to wait ages for it to adjust temperature and after that it was just a trickle. Despite this we enjoyed our stay.

Just got back from staying here for 2 nights in the twin bedded room with my daughter. Trevor and family were very welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean, beds extremely comfortable and the room had an excellent power shower! A lovely touch was the fresh milk on every landing in a jug in a mini fridge outside the door to make a nice proper tasting cup of tea just like at home. The breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked to order and beautifully presented. We felt really relaxed and comfortable throughout our stay, looking forward to staying again, highly recommended, would not stay anywhere else!

We stayed in the 'family room' - 2 singles and a double bed.
A lovely place with very comfy clean beds, the room was well laid out, clean and welcoming. The bathroom really clean, puts ours to shame :-(.
The breakfast was delicious, well cooked, as well as a choice of cold alternatives.
Overall had a very nice, comfortable stay, the owners were very welcoming and ensured our stay was untroubled , would definitely recommend !

Just got back from staying here for 2 nights, Got nice friendly treatment from first arriving. Very clean, excellent beds, there was loads of hot water.a small fridge on each landing gave you a fresh jug of milk for drinks and there was also the usual small longlife type in the room along with tea and coffee on a tray also biscuits. The breakfast was as good has anywere i have stayed, you choose the night before what you would like but they are very obliging and extra toast etc if needed but i am sure most people will be satisfied. the towels in the rooms were lovely soft and clean.

Great hosts, clean and tidy, loads of nick nacks in your room. Great beds, showers and buckets of hot water. All topped off with a superb breakfast and at a great price. Will not use anyone else in Buxton......

Room Tip: Ask to see a selection of rooms, they will definitely accommodate.

Rooms were clean, but a bit tired. Breakfast was very average - nothing homemade or local - sausages were particularly low quality. Owners were friendly, but didn't seem to know about the area, even though they advertise to ask questions. Would recommend only for someone wanting a quiet room who doesn't care about decor or breakfast - which I think is key to a traditional English b&b.

Thanks for you review 'Cricket' we have noted your comments.
In reply.....since we took over ownership 12 months ago our rooms are all newly decorated and mostly refurbished.

Our breakfasts, cooked fresh daily as ordered by you the night before, are made with local produce and the freshest ingredients sourced from the area.
People even come back just for the breakfasts !
You do not mention the chocolate easter eggs and fresh strawberries on the tables for Easter......are you sure it was here you stayed ?

If we appeared not to know the area we are most sorry None of us can remember anyone asking us about it.
If we are not sure about local 'features' we have always tried our best to offer something from the extensive range of literature we have on hand,or we ring the T.I.C. to find out for you.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay and if you would like to contact us with your name and address or phone number we will do our best to offer you a discount for a future stay.

Great b n b. I've stayed here before when the previous owners ran the b and b so you could say I'm a 'returner' so that means it was good then and it is good now. I needed two rooms for myself and a friend as we were in Buxton to see a show at the Opera House (and I did have a birthday earlier on in the week :-). We both had double rooms for single 'special' rates. :-) It remains a warm welcome, clean and tidy and value for money b n b with plenty of on road parking. They will accommodate a one night stay (which a lot of b n bs won't do even in low season). Lovely breakfast. In quiet location (Buxton is no different to other towns - it does have the 'youthful' element!) I have no hesitation in recommending this b n b and will no doubt be a return guest again. I've read on this site about woodchip wallpaper looking tatty - it doesn't stop you having a good night's sleep (which you will get in this b and b due to the location and a comfy bed). After that good night's sleep, you'll be able to face any woodchip on any wall and old property does require a good and easy wall-covering as well I know having lived in one. I honestly didn't see any tatty looking wall paper. This is a basic, good value, b n b and I wasn't disappointed. A lot of people want this type of b n b these days whilst money is tight. Well done the owners of The Netherdale - keep up the good work and I hope the guest house is a success for you all! :-) I'll no doubt return in the future as I do enjoy coming to Buxton and visiting the lovely opera house. :-)

Room Tip: Room 3 has a comfy double bed!
