July 23-24. My wife and I just got back from 2 perfect days in Flagg. We're from St. Louis, but I used the "brilliant" title since that is apparently the Brit superlative in vogue. We stayed in one of three rooms at the B & B, and Margaret made us literally feel at home. The room was spotless, the bathroom looked to be newly renovated and the view was of rolling farmland and free Wi Fi is available.
Breakfast was to die for, none of this warmed over buffet style soggy scrambled eggs etc. but cooked to order - you fill out an extensive 'breakfast' checklist the evening prior, along with the time you plan to eat (the breakfast sausage is outstanding). There's no way you can eat everything on the check list even if Margaret complains that you didn't try it all 'for the full experience'.
If you're flying out, Margaret can print boarding passes for you. Manchester airport is about an hour fifteen away, depending on traffic.

While we didn't try it, their camping grounds also have what look like 'Yurts" (?) or circular Mongolian style semi permanent tents that you can rent, which contain all the amenities.

A great way to visit the Peaks District, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay...did I mention the breakfast'? Plan on making reservations if you want to stay in the B & B, since there are only 3 rooms available.

Room Tip: There are 3 rooms in the B & B, Ash, Elm and some other tree...Oak (?). Ash has a double bed, Elm has 2 singles, not sure what Oak has.

Spent a weekend here with friends recently & was really pleased at the environmentally friendly aspects- rainwater flushing loos, loads of solar panels, good recycling facilities - great! : ) The shower block was very clean, grass in the fields was nicely cut, also loved the handy tea/coffee/cold drinks machines. Great location on the limestone way - we stayed on the top field, willow, and had 360 degree views of the countryside! Lovely. Love that you can have a fire too. Brilliant. And not expensive. Hurray! : )

My partner and I have just come back from an excellent two night stay (Fri and Sat) in the Oak Room and have had an absolutely brilliant time. Although we arrived later than we had planned on Friday evening, Margaret gave us a very warm welcome including a beautifully made hand made scone with cream, jam and a chocolate covered strawberry on top - very good! The room was the smallest they offer but was very well equipment with a spotless en suite bathroom, which had a very powerful shower, a king sized bed, a fridge with fresh milk and water in, a kettle an selection of teas and coffees, a television and hair drier. Also, some very tasty pistachio shortbread!! Margaret was friendly and chatty without being intrusive and the breakfast spread she put on was superb. Fresh fruit, creamy yoghurts, cereals, toast, a big selection of cooked breakfast items - we were stuffed full both mornings! Highly recommend this B&B.

Room Tip: The Oak Room is the smallest - perhaps not ideal if you have a lot of luggage!

We stayed for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend at the campsite - we had a wonderful time, lucky with the weather and enjoyed using the fire pits they hire out in the evening to toast some marshmallows. We tried 2 of the local pubs they recommended - Duke of York had appallingly slow service (hour plus wait blamed on lack of chefs) but the Bulls Head in Monyash which you can walk along footpaths to reach was a lovely pub, with a great beer garden and good food.

Our only suggestion would be more toilets and showers - with the site so busy and only 4/5 showers for the girls queues were lengthy and we had to wait until the middle of the day!

We plan to come again next year to explore more of the area,

Me and my partner have just come back from a 2 night camp trip at knotlow and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The site is very well maintained and spacious, we pitched in a lovely spot with amazing views. We've stayed at a lot of campsites and struggle to find one that's not too noisy and also clean facilities . Knotlow as everything , great views , lovely site, very clean toilets and showers and options at the farmhouse to order pizza, fire pits breakfast cobs etc. they have thought of everything and the site is so well kept we will definitely be coming back . Although when we went it was bank holiday and busy with lots of kids Etc noise was kept to a min after 11pm so very nice site if you are looking to relax

Fantastic place :)
