Beautiful house, clean, well equipped. Lovely location, great for family get togethers. All types of walks available from your own doorstep. The Royal Oak, approx 15 minute stroll, food amazing, deserts to die for! Staff very welcoming. Dogs welcomed.

What a beautiful place!! Absolutely perfect for my sisters Hen Do. 18 of us were in Cruck'd Barn, Bats Belfry and Amberleigh House, all with plenty of space, bathrooms and excellent kitchen facilities. Cruck'd Barn was perfect for eating, drinking, games etc for a large group. Location was amazing with The Royal Oak pub just a short walk away. Couldn't have ask for a better place/weekend, would definitely recommend it!!

As a group of 8 walkers all wanting a room to ourselves it can be hard to find suitable accommodation but Hurdlow Grange completely met our needs. We booked Amberleigh House and Cruck'd Barn which gave us 8 rooms with no more than 2 people sharing a bathroom - perfect! The accommodation is well appointed and generally of a high standard, reflected in quite a high, but acceptable, price for a 3 night weekend stay. The properties are fairly remote so a car is essential but the location makes a large part of the Peak District easily accessible. Having The Royal Oak close by gives a good eating and drinking option (see separate review). We would certainly recommend Hurdlow Grange, especially for a large group get together.

As a family, we do have some wonderful celebrations where we get together with some friends to celebrate and enjoy each others company. There were 37 of us this time and not only was the location, weather and venue superb, but the team that organised and catered to our every need were outstanding. From arranging the cask ale and suggesting the hog roast, which again was absolutely fabulous, to a number of evening meals and lunches in the Royal Oak . (Fast running out of superlatives here!) Everyone who came said how great it was and for Marion (my lovely wife) who arranged it all, it was the happy culmination of some very fraught planning and worry. True the weather was good, but we had so many beautiful walks and magnificent venues on the doorstep and plenty to keep us occupied at the Grange. Picnicking by the river at Chatsworth, Haddon House is an absolute gem, and everywhere, the views! Stunning, stunning, stunning. And yes, we would go back. Thank you one and all.

Better late than never! I meant to add this some time ago. We had a 1 night stay for a works meeting with a stay over. Cannot fault it. Excellent service from collecting keys to checkout , staff were friendly & helpful. Lovely clean & comfy accommodation with all mod cons . Suited our needs perfectly. There was 12 staff in our group & plenty of room for a day long team meeting. Use of flip charts etc, then with added extras like pool table & darts for the evening. Great kitchen for cooking a team dinner:) easy to find, lovely & warm even in January.....will certainly be recommending to others & my friends as the property is ideal for a group getaway:) couldn't fault it. Impressed

This was a birthday celebration group of 40 - a logistical nightmare at the best of times! But with 'five star' accommodation, very flexible eating/social arrangements and excellent support from the Hurdlow Team, we had a brilliant weekend with very many happy memories. I'm absolutely sure that some or even all of us will be back at some point in some guise or other!
It's all 'topped off' with an excellent location for walking (and cycling, though not us!) from the door, with the first rate Royal Oak a pleasant 15 minute walk down the track.

This is my second visit to Hurdlow Grange. My first was my for my husbands 40th a couple of years ago and we hired three of the cottages. My second visit was with a few girlfriends celebrating our 40th.
Both visit's have been an amazing!
The accommodation, in particular Cruck'd barn is a great party house, with a large dining table and great entertaining area, perfect for a 'boogie'. The accommodation is very clean and spacious.
The area is outstanding, with a great walk nearby which ends at the lovely Royal Oak pub, perfect for a bite to eat and a pint!! Fantastic pub, owned by the same people who own the cottages.
The staff were excellent at the pub and the cottages and were on hand straight away with any issues.
Definitely recommend for a get together.
