Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Alton Towers. It is a bit of a distance (approx 30 mins) but definitely worth it.

The B&B is located approx. 7 miles outside of Buxton in the middle of the Peak District and offers fantastic views in a secluded location. It is very good value for money and offers a very comfortable and different type of accommodation to the usual 'chain' hotel.

We arrived on the Wednesday evening after having driven up to Alton Towers that morning and then spending the day at the theme park. Take note, the pub is not open on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, something we had missed when booking it originally. We were met by a note giving us a phone number to call where we then spoke to the owner who instructed us how to get into the room. All a bit odd as a first impression especially after a long day. Once we got in however the room was lovely, very clean and well decorated. We made our way to a pub down the road which served great food.

The following evening we ate at the Jug & Glass Inn as it was then open, the food was reasonably priced and there was a good selection to choose from. The breakfast was also good although we ended up only having it on the second morning as it was only served from 8.30 in the morning and we wanted to get going earlier in the morning in order to get a full day in.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay at the Jug & Glass Inn, if it had not been for the bizarre arrival circumstances and the late serving of breakfast I would be giving it 5 stars.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for one night when we went to Alton Towers, it is a bit of a drive (30mins roughly) but you go through lovely little towns that I wish we had energy left to stop in. The room was stunning with a an amazing view, was clean and cozy. We went through to the bar for dinner, where there was also a wood burning fire and big couches. The food was all homemade and delicious, there was far too much and I felt guilty for not eating it all! It is very reasonably priced and had a wide variety of food and drink. Owners were welcoming and happy to help with directions home the next day. Only complaint I have about this dainty little hotel is that we did not stay long enough, would definately like to have stayed a few nights and explore the area and towns.

Just returned from a gem of a hotel the Jug and Glass, Hartington, Peak District. The location is just perfect easy to find on the top of a moor close to local roads. The owner was knowledgable about the local area and recommended a great walk from the pub;s front door.
The room was modern, chic and really quiet with up to date facilities and smashing viewes out the window, we had a meal in the pub and the steak was huge and melted in my mouth. The pub was ideally located to local attractions and villages with loads of walks and places to visit. Really fantastic time.

Room Tip: Eat the steak andvisit Hartington village.

I was having a short break and wanted a good bed and breakfast establishment to stay in. The Jug and Glass was very clean and room I was given was large and well provided for. If I was visiting Derbyshire again I would certainly consider staying at the Jug and Glass again. I would recommend the Jug and Glass to family and friends to use, as it certainly provided excellent bed and breakfast for anyone visiting the Derbyshire area.

Room Tip: All bedrooms are of the same high standard

Having never been to the Derbyshire before, I booked a weekend online and hoped for the best. I was very pleased when I arrived, as it was straight out of an old novel. Surrounded by fields, and no other buildings around.

The room was beautifully clean and comfortable. There was a bath and shower in the en-suite, which was great after a long day of walking.

The food was fantastic. Home cooked food, that warms the soul after a day of wadering over peaks and through dales.

A well recommended spot to stay, and a place I will be returning to in the future.

This was an excellent weekend break with friends. The rooms were beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. We had our meals in the dining room which had a lovely log fire and the food was excellent. The service was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We shall be definitely booking again.
