Lovely weather made our stay much more enjoyable. A classic double room with large (pushed together twins) was most comfortable with all we needed for a comfortable stay. Everything worked and we had a view of the crescent from the window. We ate in the bar one evening which was very good. The breakfast was excellent and served until 9 .30 a m. I believe it is 10.00 at weekends. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
This hotel has loads of character with lots of different rooms, each bedroom is different. We have visited the Old Hall on many occasions but this is the first time we have stayed. We shall come again. The hotel has a scheme to park outside if you buy a ticket at reception. This is important as parking is sometimes difficult.

Room Tip: Tell the staff before you go what you require and the are very informative. Otherwise you may not g...

We had a lovely stay at the Old Hall hotel with its historical character. The bedroom was nice, though dated, but the hotel is to be refurbished as part of the crescent development. The meal we had was OK but unfortunately my main course was not properly cooked and had to be remade. As a result I watched my husband eat his main course, and he then watched me eat mine. Staff were full of apologies but, as we had selected this hotel on the reported quality of its restaurant, we were disappointed.

A fabulous weekend stay. The hotel was busy but that didn't stop the staff being very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. We had lovely room, 2 fantastic breakfasts and a lovely meal on Friday night.

We ate in the restaurant, which takes you back in time, white linen, pressed napkins & grand surroundings. The menu is creative, the food, plentiful & cooked to perfection, whilst the staff are young, friendly and most hospitable. We enjoyed a lovely three course dinner and wine from the excellent & reasonably priced wine list. We will definitely visit again.

Our room was lovely, the comfiest bed I have slept in in ages, loved the teddy on the bed but wonder just how much they would have charged if you wanted to take him home?

We ate in the restaurant which was nice but nothing particularly special. Same for breakfast. The service was good but the food just not quite matching up to everything else.

The coffee is nice and a cafetiere for two very reasonable. The wine was nice though perhaps a little overpriced.

Although I'm sounding rather negative it was a lovely place and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would stay again.

Lovely night away in a charming hotel. Polite helpful and friendly welcome. Simple traditional style bedroom was lovely and clean. Breakfast was really nice - properly freshly cooked food served in a bright dining room. Really liked the homemade ingredients. I would use this hotel again without hesitation. Really nice to stay in a hotel which is not a corporate clone.

It's a little quirky and delightfully different. It claims to be the oldest hotel in Britain and I can believe it.
What makes the place so good is the friendliness of the young staff. We had lunch in the wine bar, which was fine and dinner in the restaurant also fine.
Our room was well appointed with a comfortable bed and good size bath. All in all a pleasant stay.
It's worth a stay for the breakfast with everything freshly cooked to order and served at the table. First rate.

Room Tip: Pay a little more for a classic room
