We stayed here for two nights over 15th and 16th March in room 8. The room was wonderful, tastefully decorated, spotless and spacious. It faces the road, but despite being only a few minutes walk from plenty of pubs and places to eat, was very peaceful with no noise from the road at all, and a great view to the hills. Katheryn and Martin are perfects hosts (I even had a birthday card from them), always there for any advice or anything else you need, but respectful of your privacy at the same time. Breakfast was too yummy - what to choose? Katheryn's home made jam and granola were great, as was the full english (locally sourced). We tried the veggie Derbyshire oatcake version and this was also really lovely, perfect before a days walking in the hills. Thank you for a great stay - We wouldn't bother to even look at anywhere else to stay next time we come to Buxton. Dawn and Andy

Room Tip: Room 8 spacious with bath and shower, and great view. This room can be a twin or made up to a kingsize bed.

Absolutely perfect
We spent two nights in the wonderful Griff House B&B on Easter and we highly recommend it.
The bedroom and the bathroom were spotless, perfect clean and especially modern due to the refurbish works made in the property. Martin and Kathryn were absolutely fantastic, welcoming and provided us with advices for our time in Peak District. Breakfast was superb and we could see the personal touch in the delicious home made granola and jams available. The location also is perfect as restaurants and pubs are less than 10 minutes walking so you do not need to take your car for dinner.
To sum up, a great experience that ticks all the boxes ...and even more than this.
Finally we would like to take the opportunity to thank Martin and Kathryn for all their kindness and you can be sure that if we are around we will visit you again.
Best regards

This guest house was great. The rooms were clean and spacious and the owners were really friendly. Their breakfast was hearty (good cooked brekkie - even veggie option) and very tasty (I think that the owner even makes her own cereals). This was an excellent place to stay and would thoroughly recommend it. It is very conveient - just a short walk to the centre of Buxton. I will definitely stay here if I am in the town again.

Room Tip: An excellent view from the rooms at the top all over Buxton and the surrounding countryside! Sorry - I cant remember the numbers (maybe 7 or 8?)

We have just got back from Buxton were we had two superb days stay at Griff house B+B. Even before we arrived Martin had been in touch to tell us how to find them and how get in. On arrive we were welcomed by Martin who showed us to room 4. It's a lovely big room with everything you'd expect in it.

The Griff is well situated for getting into the centre of Buxton, which is only a couple of minutes walk away. Martin and Katherine are very knowledgable about the area if you intend staying local or venturing further.

Breakfast was again of a high stand and couldn't be faulted. Katherine made sure we had enough to eat and again nothing seemed to much trouble.

Martin and Katherine make sure you stay is an enjoyable experience and they succeeded with us.

We would highly recommend this B+B if your staying in Buxton, that is of course if its not booked up.

Thanks again both

I was on a working trip, and was struggling to find somewhere to stay.I went to a few places, but their prices were out of my allowance. So I went to tourist information, and very helpful south African gentleman, made a few calls, explained my situation and eventually directed me to griff house and Martin and kathryn. I would whole heartedly recommend this b+b to anyone.Martin and kathryn are helpful and generous to a fault! The rooms are clean ,tidy and have everything u want and need from a bed and breakfast.the location is very near the centre, but quiet.so no worries about not being able to sleep etc,and the breakfast is excellent. Thanks Martin. All in all,10 out of 10!!!
