Real French food, sourced in France. We arrived late one afternoon, so full menu not available. Just like eating in France! Excellent food and drink-superb coffee and wine( the House Merlot was superb. Lovely service. We met the proprietor, who definitely is French! (See previous review.)

I enjoyed Buxton on a recent visit but found eating out disappointing. Everywhere seemed either old fashioned or average. However, La Brasserie could be breaking the mould. Although we only had lunch, it was extremely good. Superb baguettes with french inspired fillings and good fries. Superb coffee. Neither of us had been hungry for a more substantial meal but the menu was extensive and the table of ladies next to us gave us the opportunity to check out the menu. All looked great and the ladies looked more than happy. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive but not too intrusive. The decor of both the restaurant and the adjoining bar area are modern and sleek. Slightly tucked away but worth searching out and very close to the theatre for those looking for a pre-theatre venue.

Oh where to start, it was a delightful little place. Very lovely staff (although no signs of anyone French).

Authentic food, we had coquilles St Jacques to start which will stay in my memory for some time to come. Mains were equally as delicious and the desserts a dream. Only problem I had was the cocktail I ordered had a frozen raspberry in it which got stuck in the narrow neck of the glass, when I tipped it further most of it went down the front of my dress - my problem - but a tip to remove the raspberry before putting glass to lips!! The wine list was a little disappointing. Very very reasonably priced, even with coffee and brandies and a bottle of wine our three course meal was less than £80. Do yourselves a huge favour and pay this delightful place a visit.
