Had dinner here on Tuesday great food not cheap but the price is very fair for what you get. Second visit and will be back.... Restaurants like this deserve to do well :))

“Venison & Absinthe”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

From the moment we ordered our first drink nothing seemed to be to much trouble at this wonderful little restaurant. Gerry the owner and chef came up and spoke to us as if we where his long lost friends even thou it was the first time we had met him, his staff where equally as welcoming.

We chose to eat here on the recommendation of friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we where not disappointed.

The food was excellent, well cooked and presented with seasonal vegetables. Moules Breton and Venison for myself and Tarte Tatan and Guinea Fowl for my wife along with a very palatable bottle of red.

Afterwards we finished with a coffee and Absinthe on the outside terrace.

An amazing meal, wonderful surroundings and a warm welcome will ensure we return to Le Brasserie when we are next in Buxton

“Very good”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

We had a very good meal here prior to going to the Opera. My husband really loved his charcuterie which was just as he likes it. I had confit of duck which was very good. The dishes were prepared to order and it showed. The staff were delightful and ensured that we were in good time for our early start at the Opera House. What a shame that they don't stay open for dinner after the Opera during the Festival.

“Always Bon ambience”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

Fabulous to find a real French brasserie in the heart of Buxton, a stone's throw from the Opera House and shopping centre. Friendly, knowledgeable service; excellent, imaginative starters and mains, yummy puds, with specials every day, simple but interesting wine list. If I have any complaint it's that the main courses are huge, but you'll see plenty of cleaned plates in here. Merci, Jacques!

“Authentic bustling atmosphere”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

We really enjoyed the busy atmosphere which was reminiscent of a typical town centre bar/brasserie in France.
We enjoyed our aperitif outside in the evening sun where they have 1/2 dozen tables.
The food was typical French bistro style, just what we wanted and very good. The moules frites as a main was extremely generous.
The staff were lovely, very attentive and helpful.
The bar, with vaulted ceilings, was busy and popular with locals which added to the authentic atmosphere.
We would certainly visit again.
