We have dined here about 8 years ago before today! We were there on a Friday lunchtime, having a meal before watching a panto. We found the meal to be great value, £28 for 2 adults & 3 kids, 2 of which had adult meals; including drinks. The food was very nice and service was very prompt and polite. Will go again.

Good food after a hard days shop, good prices and a pleasant interior. The parking is a problem however and you may have to park at the pay and display a little walk away. Better for adults and not young children as some of the clientele are rough around the edges.

As part of the JD Weatherspoons chain we know roughly what to expect. The food and drinks are always reasonably priced. So fancying a steak during a walking weekend away in Buxton, we set off to find the Wye Bridge House. It took a bit of finding and the mean streets of that end of Buxton were quite mean on that wet Friday evening.
However, we were given a warm welcome from one of the staff and settled down to wait for our meals (Mixed grill and a drink for me and a steak and salad with a drink for the wife). We did not have long to wait and both thoroughly enjoyed our respective meals.
Weatherspoons has been seen as causing the demise of many a small pub in various areas of the Country and at the Wye Bridge House you can see why. Everyone is targeted by Weatherspoons - from families with young children, people wanting just a reasonably priced coffee or meal, young people gathering for a night out, people wanting to drink as much as they can as cheaply as possible and those people who in different times would have been in institutionalised care. We questioned whether this is a good mix as we were forced to listen to outpourings from toddlers, drunks, the not very bright and the mentally infirm. Some of these were amusing, many were abusive, being distressed or angry but always loud.
We marvelled at how seemingly paralytic revellers could negotiate the step from the bar to the seating area where we were eating. So my wife was more than upset when she soberly returned from the ladies to trip over that step and go down like a sack of spuds. She agreed that it was probably her fault for not paying attention and was grateful for the offer of help from a staff member to put her upright. Although, the offer did not actually result in any action so she managed to right herself.
We would not be in a hurry to return to this particular Weatherspoons.

Last day before my daughter starts school so we went for breakfast at Wetherspoons as the start of our play date.

She had porridge with honey and banana and a glass of apple juice, I had the Eggs Benedict and a coffee, total cost about £6. Service was pretty quick, the guy who served us was friendly and accommodating and the food was grand. Nothing flashy, but tasty and quickly delivered to us.

For £6 all in we both had a lovely breakfast and my little girl felt that she had been treated.

Wetherspoons is what it is, simple things at low prices. If you are expecting Michelin Stars, this is the wrong place. If you want a good value meal that isn't going to cost you the earth then you'll enjoy it.

Ate here June 2013 with a group of people. Food came out in Dribs & drabs, no continuity with the order of food. The food was of low quality & very dry/overcooked. They also messed up our order & my daughters meal did not arrive. They couldn't find her meal on the order so it had to be made while we were all eating. By the time her meal had arrived everyone else had finished so she had to eat on her own, it was so small it looked like a child's portion which had just been cobbled together. Staff were very nonchalant in their attitude with no enthusiasm whatsoever.
So, would I eat here again? NO!!
