This is a large, fine pub on the edge of Buxton. It welcomes families, and the food and drink are varied and tasty. Seating inside and out (in good weather). Within our week's visit in Buxton, we were moved to return repeatedly. Good, reliable wifi to guests.

Drove through Buxton on way back from Matlock Bath with 2 adults & 4 children decided to stop off here for something to eat. It was Tuesday steak club (two steak dinners & bottle of wine £16.99). The pub is lovely inside & out (huge beer garden to front) and across the car park is a play area. Food was excellent, children's meals were ample enough and service was good.

Visited here later afternoon with family and left feeling completely satisfied and relaxed. We have eaten in various Wetherspoons pubs and the food has always been generally just fine and good value for money. However, today's venue has given me something to write about. The place itself is modern, clean with lots of tables. We felt very relaxed in there without being ignored or staff being overly intrusive. The best part was the food - it was exceptional (Ribs & Combo, Hunters Chicken, Steak, Mixed Grill). All included a free drink (Tuesday steak day I think). I ordered my Aunty's Hunters Chicken with BBQ sauce by mistake and asked if there was any possibility we could change it - at first the waiter seemed a little dubious (probably scared of temperamental chefs!), however, he took it away and came back a few minutes later saying that a fresh meal would be with us soon - there was no quibble and no extra charge for my genuine mistake so THANKS! Waiter was very polite and pleasant. Bar staff also smiley and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again.
