“Good night's sleep and a good breakfast”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Nice quiet location. Breakfast was very good and the staff very polite. The bathroom was nice and very modern but the door from the bedroom to the bathroom and the wardrobe doors looked cheap but maybe that's just me being picky. I think if they spent a little money on the furnishings and curtains it would make the place look so much nicer. Having said that we still had an enjoyable stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

We used this accommodation as we were attending a wedding in a nearby village. The accommodation was very good, service was excellent and breakfast was superb. Staff were extremely helpful and attentive and parking was available for all guests.
The location is in the countryside so you do have to expect various farmyard smells at different times.
We would definitely recommend this accommodation, especially for access to local area and Peak District. We would use again if we visit the area again.

A much appreciated restful stay in what was not an easy time for us as we were visiting sick relatives and friends. Caring, considerate and helpful staff - very clean well appointed accommodation, excellent breakfast.Good situation for Buxton, very peaceful surroundings don't let the approach road put you off. Many thanks, Alistair, we will definitely be back.

We stayed for 4 nights from the 20th to 24th of July 2014. When we arrived we received a really friendly welcome and were shown round the facilities. We chose to have a non electric hook-up pitch and had our choice of pitch. We had lovely views of the countryside. The site was spotlessly clean, had free wi-fi and a nice new family animal farm and had obviously new shower facilities which were very good. It is 20p a minute for a hot shower but we didn't mind paying. The only thing that has stopped me from giving this a rating of 5 is there is a real shortage of space in the shower cubicle as there is only one peg to hang all your things on. I would suggest a fold down shelf just outside the shower unit inside the main cubicle doors to stop the problem. Also, although there is a carry-out service for drinks for campers the lounge bar is for hotel guests only, so we just stayed in the tent in the evening. It's only a short walk, or even shorter drive into Buxton with Aldi and Waitrose for buying your drinks. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely go back. Four nights just wasn't long enough :)

Stayed here in a tent with electric hookup for 3 nights. When we arrived we were greeted and given our pick of camping spots. The campsite is set among trees which gives it a nice un-regimented feel. The toilet and shower facilities were excellent. They were extremely clean and were well stocked. Paying extra for a shower was a little OTT but they were exceptionally well kept so fair enough. We visited the Palace hotel in Buxton for a spa day during our trip and the facilities and cleanliness of their "4 star" hotel were put to absolute shame by Staden Grange campsite.

Stayed for 2 nights with elderly father. He was given a room with a step in shower. This was helpful. Lovely setting, friendly staff, rooms clean and nice. Breakfast was nice, coffee good✔ views stunning and Buxton lovely. To get to this venue you first turn into a light industrial area ( local) don't be put off. Once you enter their property it's lovely. Oh and there are animals to pat, baby cow's and the bird's are abundant.

Stayed for long weekend (Friday-Monday) in June 2014 with one other in a small tent on site.
Friendly and helpful staff with really lovely toilets and adequate pot wash/water facilities. Asked if they did breakfast for campers and unfortunately they didn't but thats understandable presuming the hotel is booked. Overall a really nice stay and would consider returning again. Buxton is a nice town to explore nearby and has access to peaks without worry. Walked into buxton one evening for a meal and drink which was fine if you don't mind the stroll (~1hr). The gravel path leading to the campsite was perfectly fine for our standard height hatchback car to cope with, so no issues (without a caravan).
