I went to Poole's cavern while on holiday in the Buxton area. I came across a leaflet for Poole's cavern in the campsite "things to do" leaflet area and I'm so glad I did. Beautiful place to visit and our guide was very informative, interesting, friendly and very amusing in his talk (young, tall with red hair). Unfortunately the weather was quite bad so I didn't get to walk round the country park however I will be doing so next time I visit the cavern in the summer next year.

Okay but not spectacular, in fact compared to some caves/caverns it was a bit disapointing. Our guide was very good if his script was rather child orientated, would be great for a school trip. indeed there was a lot of material in the waiting area sent in from school trips.

The tour guide was fantastic (sadly I can't remember his name) he shared his knowledge in such a way that adults and children in the tour felt included. He pointed out lots of interesting features in the cavern, that over the years have been given various names, its truly amazing to see what nature can do given the chance.

Make sure you take a coat or jumper in with you as its only about 7c or 8c inside.
