“Superb wedding venue”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

We visited Cressbrook Hall in January and immediately knew this was exactly where we wanted to get married. The setting is stunning, the Hall amazing and flexible enough to accommodate the unpredictable English weather. The bookable accommodation in cottages in the grounds enables family and friends to stay on site and is superb. Bobby Hull-Bailey (owner) listened to our ideas from the first meeting and her extensive experience meant she came up with many ideas within our budget. Veronica, wedding planner, was always on hand to reply to emails and phone enquiries. Her presence on the day to ensure everything went smoothly reassured not only us but family and guests too.
We had an afternoon ceremony followed by afternoon tea with Pimms served in the orangery overlooking the manicured gardens and Water-cum- jolly Dale. It was superb! Despite the inclement June weather. We then had a hog roast for our evening reception. Again excellent fare and good value for money.
All the staff all day were professional, efficient and friendly. Very well presented and polite.
Having access to 3 areas of the Hall meant all guests needs could easily be accommodated.

We also booked breakfast for our guests who stayed overnight. The cooked breakfast was excellent. It enabled family and friends to get together the morning after, enjoy time together before heading back home. We would highly recommend this option to round off your wedding celebrations.

For a wedding with a more relaxed Country house feel you cannot find a better venue with excellent support from Bobby, Veronica and their very professional team.

Room Tip: Superb wedding venue with bookable accommodation for guests on site.

We booked this grand, palatial b&b for a weekend, and the owner thoughtfully put us up in one of their lovely cottages in the grounds, since the hall was busy. This was agreed before arrival at the point of booking, and I was more than happy with that.
Very scenic setting, attractive location, stunning hall and interior, gorgeous formal gardens.
A great b&b (it's almost too grand to be labelled a "b&b") and we enjoyed a lovely, leisurely breakfast in regal surroundings with classical music piped into the formal dining room. We couldn't believe our luck!
Oozing with character, warmth, and a very lovely owner/manager. If you fancy living like an aristo, this could be the short break you've always been looking for!!!
I bet their wedding parties are a knockout - what a location!

For anyone looking for somewhere different to stay, then this is for you. The accommodation was spotless and very well appointed and our family room was exactly what we were looking for. Breakfast, served in an airy room overlooking the gardens, was a delight. We will certainly return

We had our wedding here on Friday 20th June 2014 and it really couldn't have gone any smoother.
We met with Bobby the owner 2 years before the actual day and she was fantastic at what she did, we gave her our budget and she made lots of suggestions to keep within that.
From that point Veronica was our link to Cressbrook Hall and helped with all the wedding planning, she was fantastic and very prompt in responding to our many emails!
The actual day could not have gone any smoother the staff were amazing and had everything in hand down to the finest detail, my husband and I didn't have to worry about a single thing, all the guests were in ore of the place, and those that were staying in the cottages absolutely loved thier stay. I wish we could do it all again- we will definitely have fond memories of Cressbrook Hall and will definitely be visiting again.

We spent last weekend at Cressbrook Hall, where our daughter's wedding reception was being held. Everyone had a fantastic time, and our accommodation in cottages which are situated within the grounds of the Hall was superb. They were extremely well equipped, and everything was spotlessly clean. Would recommend this venue to anyone seeking holiday accommodation or, as in our case, a wedding reception venue. The staff dealt with all our queries and requests, both before the wedding and on the day itself, swiftly, and nothing was too much trouble. Mrs Hull-Bailey and her team at Cressbrook were brilliant.

Room Tip: The cottages are of differing sizes, but all are beautifully situated.

To say our hostess was charming, is a huge understatement. As a group of 4 walkers on a 2 day adventure, this was a most welcome stop over. We were greeted with charm and obeisance and shown to our beautiful cottage with stunning views into the valley. The grounds and gardens of cressbrook hall are an absolute gem too.

In the morning we were treated to an amazing cooked breakfast in an equally splendid and lavish dinning room. Again our hostess regaled us with local information and history and pointed us on our way to continue our walking adventure.

We recently stayed in two cottages at Cressbrook Hall. The location was secluded but close to lovely pubs and country walks. The accommodation and gardens are very well maintained and is a great location for weddings, private parties etc. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. We would definitely recommend Cressbrook Hall to couples and families alike.
