We stayed at this lovely little hotel for 2 nights last week, it is in an ideal position for visiting Buxton and the surrounding areas.
We booked a family room for myself, my husband, 13 year old daughter and our little dog! the room was excellent and my daughter actually had her own room with a door into our room so that was lovely to have the privacy.
The hotel was very dog friendly and the manager was happy for us to leave the dog in the room while we were out on an evening, this was ideal for us as some hotels will not let you leave the dog alone.

The hotel was clean and bright, a little dated in places but we felt this just added to the charm. The breakfast was excellent and they were happy to swap things around for a fussy non meat eater like myself.
We ate at the hotel on the first night and the food was lovely, a really good choice was offered however it was served on really small plates, the portions were good but I felt it was a bit hard to eat it as there was no room on the plate to cut your food.

We would definitely stay here again, the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Just returned from a short 'voucher' break. The hotel although a little dated in some parts but overall we had a lovely time. A well located hotel close to many amenities including the Pavilion park and a short walk to Pooles cavern. Staff very friendly and couldn't be more helpful.

Have to say the hotel room was standard but very clean and was nice and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and the cooked food was first class.location of hotel was perfect for buxton and although this was our first visit to the area I can't wait to go back again especially to this homely hotel

The hotel is in a quiet location and a 10 minutes pleasant walk through the Pavilion Gardens to the centre of Buxton. The hotel is rather old fashioned in style but that gives it charm in my opinion. If you want chrome and glass, this is not for you. The staff were very friendly, our room was a good size and very comfortable. The cooked breakfast was good.

Would I stay here again? Yes.

I came down to stay two nights at short notice, was booked in and sorted with a minimum of fuss by Sara. Room was one I hadn't used before, it had been refurbished and bedroom and the ensuite bathroom were excellent. Comprehensive full cooked breakfast, lovely Bar Meal in the evening (go for the vegetarian crumble, with chips, its excellent). The owners were very good, friendly and helpful, and all in all I had a very relaxing time.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, very very quiet at night and great for having a sound sleep! Close enough to Buxton centre with a short walk through the beautiful Pavilion gardens.
The breakfast/dining room is very pleasant and the surrounding gardens are very well looked after however the accommodation is very very tired and felt a little bit dirty. The en suite in room 110 was in need of some loving care! The shower leaked out of the bottom of the sealed tray and therefore flooded the floor near the toilet. Fixtures and fittings were not on tight or straight (it only takes a little care and attention to put these simple things right).
The staff were lovely and I made a special request which they were very helpful with.
The breakfast was the nicest part of my stay...beautiful fresh produce and served in good time.
Overall I would stay here again if the rooms were updated and cleaned thoroughly.

Just spent 4 nights, with a group of people, at the Alison Park Hotel in Buxton. It is a basic, but comfortable hotel, the room I shared with a friend was a twin with an en-suite with shower. Nothing fancy, but all that you needed. Tea and coffee making facilies provided and refreshed daily, small wall mounted tv.

The owners and staff are all very hard working and friendly too........the food, well all I can say is that it was really very good. We were offered a good dinner choice daily, several starters, mains and deserts; all presented beautifully.....delicious! Breakfast was equally as good, full English if you so wanted plus any combination of the usual cooked eggs etc. Plus cereals, fruit and plentiful coffee or tea.

It is very well situated for exploring, near to the beautiful Pavillion Gardens and a short walk to both parts of the town.
