Outstanding range of Buxton beers (draft and keg), plus many bottled Belgium options and wines. Food is really tasty, cooked on site, and well priced (£7 - £9). Staff were very knowledgeable on the beers, and they sell bottles to go at a discount. Relaxed atmosphere, bright and open interior. Some outdoor seating plus lots of indoor comfortable seats and sofas. Newspapers available, various interesting teas and coffees. Children welcome. A very special little place.

I simply love what they are trying to do with this place. In an area that seems almost exclusively targeting the over 60s they have produced a great experience for old and young alike. Their selection of ales on kg, draught and bottle is terrific, the burgers are outstanding and the staff friendly and efficient. With free wifi you feel like you are in a 21st Century establishment that has thought a bit about what customers want.

We called in here after a walk in the Peak District, while Buxton was still chocca from the Carnival. We were not disappointed.
It was a bit strange to walk in past two bouncers (at about 5pm in the afternoon), but make of that what you will. We had the usual kid in a sweet-shop moment as we perused the menu. The service was as usual very helpful and we could try a little before we bought it.
We both went for an ale that was 2.7 percent. How great to be able to buy such a lightly alcoholic beer on a hot day. As usual the beer was fantastic!
The beer garden looked very busy so we sat indoors which was cool and pleasant. The décor is very functional but has a funky ambience.
We like to go to Buxton whenever we are lucky enough to get babysitting. This place is so good it is becoming part of our Buxton routine.
