Previous reviews led us to try this restaurant. Waited 40 minutes for our mains and then had to ask for a second portion of rice as there was'nt enough. This was greeted with sullen looks and frowns. Our bill was wrong - we had been charged for 4 portions of rice. Instead of dealing with this in a subtle way ,the aforementioned sullen waitress decided to show us up in front of the entire restaurant ,by bringing over empty rice bowls to indicate that we had in fact had a double portion in a slightly larger bowl as well as a single portion. We did'nt know there were different size portions. This was hugely embarrassing. In the end they had still charged us incorrectly. There was someone else at the bar desperately trying to indicate that he had also been overcharged and seemed to be getting nowhere. The restaurant was busy for a Tuesday - I guess because there was a festival in Buxton at the time. Food was average and the portions small.
To quibble over a few grains of rice is bad enough but to feel the need to humiliate customers because you know you will have more tourist business to replace them the next day is arrogant at best. Don't go here if your'e hungry and remember to check your bill carefully!!!
