Sheona and I were met by our wonderful hostess, Poppy, on arrival and every element of our one night stay thereafter was a pleasure. We enjoyed afternoon tea and cake in the beautiful gardens, apéritifs in the sitting-room and an excellent dinner-party style meal with Poppy, her husband and another guest (a regular at Uplands, whose company we greatly enjoyed and whom we won't name in the interests of privacy). Dining privately is an option of course. We were made to feel very welcome and conversation was engaging and flowed easily.

Dinner and breakfast were delicious, perfectly prepared and served and the peaceful, rural setting of Uplands House was delightful. The bedroom and its facilities were ideal and entirely as one would expect at a country house .

If peace and quiet, good food and company and conversation with interesting, welcoming hosts are to your liking then you will love Uplands House. We shall definitely stay again when in the vicinity and strongly recommend the experience.

Room tip: We did not see the other rooms however we have little doubt they will be of the same high standard

Uplands House is in a lovely spot and looks lovely from the outside, with its gorgeous garden. The house is crammed with lovely bits and bobs and sporting memorabilia, the hosts were great fencers when young. Poppy and Graham share all the entertaining and cooking. The food was good family fare. Our room had lovely views and the bathroom was huge, it could however have done with a power shower.

After only calling Uplands House just before leaving with our plane to organize our first night, we were welcomed by Poppy and we felt ourselves immediately at home. We enjoyed her breakfast, especially the yogurt with fresh fruits and the freshly squeezed orange juice. Poppy gave us ideas of all the lovey sites to visit, so we stayed 4 nights including a wonderful dinner.
We highly recommend a stay at Poppy and Graham’s lovely home with their lovely garden.

We spent three nights at Uplands House and we had an enjoyable time. The house is full of antiques and objects D’art. Our bedroom was the smallest, Tulip Room, but the bed was very comfortable, everywhere was clean and everything was thought through to the last detail. There was nothing that Poppy would not do to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We enjoyed her company and that of the other guests and had a delicious meal one evening all together. If a comfortable home from home is where you would like to stay whilst touring the beautiful Cotswolds, you would do well to visit Uplands House.
