Description: Fiercely Independent Country Pub and Restaurant serving outstanding produce that we do not mess around with, Simple and delicious. Our service is great, friendly and laid back. But first a warning to you fine people, please think very hard before coming to Le Inn.......We would love to see you but we have a few rules you need to consider first. You see Le Inn is not for everyone and that is just fine by us, only the very select few are aloud to become members of The Inn Crowd, it is a privilege and we do not give away membership lightly or on a whim, you as a guest have to play your part and earn your stripes. When you come to Le Inn remember you are coming to join our little club and we do things how we do them because that is how we like it, its our place and that's just how we like it, we ain't coming to your house Hombre! Lay back, relax, smile and enjoy the ride. So Mou Cha Cha,if you moan and whinge and have a face that looks like it has been slapped by last weeks Haddock, please take your money somewhere else, we don't want it....ciao!

Ok perhaps we did ourselves no favours by going on a Monday night, but for the money it was somewhat disappointing..

The Strawberry Mojito I started with was fine, but for £7.95 I expected more of a kick.

For starters I had the Thai chicken and papaya salad - which had no balance and was completely overdressed in lemon..

Main course was the burger and "bad boy fries" for £17 posing as a "gourmet" burger.

Nowhere enough cheese or crispy parma ham, burger was a 1 cm pattie, and rather limp lettuce tomato and salad cream style sauce. Bun was burnt...

Bad boy chips were like Mccain wedges that had been oven cooked then slightly enlivened by a dip in the deep fat fryer. And were over salted as well.. Which was odd given that there was no salt or pepper on the table, just some cheap balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

At this point we asked for the bill, paid and left

Bill including a single bottle of wine was £82.

Service was adequate. Just.

As a gastropub a complete failure in my opinion. My wife was slightly more generous in her opinion but not much more so..

As a nice country pub with the same bill being £40 it might work..

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about the Inn at Farnborough. We do take customer feedback extremely seriously, particularly the bad reviews.

Firstly, can I point out that our cocktails are designed not to have a kick but enjoyed and in fact the Strawberry Mojito comprises of 3 units of alcohol – so we are sorry you did not feel the kick!

I would also like to highlight that our Thai salad does not have any lemon in the recipe at all, rather lime and Nam Pla, in fact our Thai salad is very authentic and is a recipe from a top chef in Thailand! With regard to the burger, should you have let our staff know that you were dissatisfied we would have done all we could to rectify the situation at the time. However, our 8 oz Aberdeenshire Steak burgers in a char grilled bun with a mustard mayo sauce have featured on our menu for 10 years and have been consistently raved about! Our bad boy chips are hand cut chips triple fried in beef dripping – without a shadow of a doubt nothing related to McCains – the only frozen food we serve is ice cream!

I am just sorry we were unable to rectify your problems at the time and hope you will return to give us an opportunity to display our usual high standards of food and service.

Kind Regards,

Jo Robinson

Booked this because rare are the restaurants in beautiful settings which accept dogs inside!!Yes I repeat inside! There's a dog on the website!!! We visited the Inn the saturday before Father's Day so it was a bit quiet at first. After a walk in Farnborough Hall Gardens ...with the dog...we entered the Inn a bit apprehensive as it was so nice and let's say it ...a bit too nice for dogs! We were seated in the conservatory/extension part which is very tastefully decorated. Pretty shelves of cooking books. Large round tables. The menu was brilliant and we ended up ordering a very wide and unusual spectrum of food: The Inn's Fabulous Chicken Curry, Pigeon with plum Sauce, Burger yes burger and Salmon,Local Cheese Board :Oxford Blue, Fowlers Warwickshire Truckle
Cerney Goats Cheese, Crackers, Rhubarb Chutney and A Fabulous Summer Cocktail Trio: Raspberry & Elderfl ower Champagne Jelly
Vanilla Panna Cotta, Cassis Sorbet.....everything was fabulous, service was great, dog was welcome and we will be back!
This place acn be booked for private parties , even weddings and we wish it was closer to home.:(

We arranged for the family to meet here on a Sunday, each traveling about 2hrs to reach the pub from different parts of the UK. There were 11 of us and ranged in age fro 10 weeks to 85! This was our second visit to this pub, we all met up here 2 years ago.

The gardens are lovely and the setting great. Inside is set out with lots of nooks and offers lots of privacy.

The staff were amazing right from point of booking and we felt very cared for. The food was fab. We most chose from the Sunday lunch menu. The menus had plenty of choices and there were a good range of priced meals. I has the squid, followed by the rare roast beef and then sticky toffee pudding. All tasty, beautifully cooked and well presented.

I would highly recommend this as a ace that can cater for families and large groups comfortably and certainly go the extra mile to help.
