Arrived about 930am enroute to a spa hotel for our wedding anniversary.
Normal protocol is to wait by restaurant door and await service.
One waitress visible serving customers and was behind bar.
After 5 minutes she looked at us and asked in a quizzical manner "yes!?" She made no effort to move or make us feel welcome.
I guessed at this point we had to order although she was not very forthcoming with help. We ordered and was told the new policy was to pay first as this now saves staff time as they dont need to come to you when you have finished. Hmmm I felt like I was an inconvenience!!
She passed us two mugs and I immediately asked for clean cups. Instead of taking my word for it she deeply inspected the mugs, muttering to herself.
Breakfast was ok although the hash mix had run out and took 20 mins for fresh stuff.
On leaving I went to visit the toilet. One cubicle had its lock missing and the other had faeces in the toilet that looked like it had been there for a while/blocked. Maybe based on earlier comments staffing is saved in this area too...pay first for food and we will flush the chain for you first too. Saves having to come in after you???
Nice refurb shame bout lack lustre standards and service. Food is ok!!
