I arranged a family get together for 11 people and got a very good deal. Everyone liked the hotel and enjoyed the stay. However, it was said that dinner would be booked for us on the first night, a Friday, which was in an email from the hotel on 15th April. I emailed on 30th September to confirm the numbers dining on the Friday evening, I got no reply but assumed everything was ok. I arrived a day earlier and decided to check the time we were booked for dining on Friday only to be told we weren't booked for Friday as they had a 40th birthday party on so we had been moved to Saturday. I had no communication about this and said we had made other arrangements for Saturday. The booking was changed back to Friday and we had a lovely meal with a very amusing Italian waiter, and the music didn't bother us at all. Really don't understand the reason behind the change to Saturday, I was told because it would be noisy for us, but there was a wedding party on the Saturday which also had loud music on. The rooms were lovely but the bathroom had no ventilation apart from a tiny vent strip in the top of a totally sealed double glazed window. Really needs an extractor. The TV signal is very poor and some of our party weren't able to watch tv at all because of the poor quality picture. The staff throughout the hotel were generally pleasant and obliging.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter as front is on a main road into Banbury.

This review might be coloured by our exprience with the Lismore Hotel up the road, but came here running away from there .
Here the staff were charming friendly & helpfull. The room was great , the facilities excellant, breakfast good - nothing to fault them on, therefore highly recommended.

Stayed at this hotel for recent Moto GP, worst night sleep for both me and the hubby, our room was close to the car park , we were woken by a child and parents screaming at one another directly outside, then woken again by a person loading up equipment into a van at 1am, apparently a wedding had been on, no breakfast was made available to folks going to GP,however we have since learnt there was but this wasn't passed on to us at check-in, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the room certainly wasn't good value at £92 a night. Certainly won't use this hotel again.

I paid £585 2weeks in advance for adjoining rooms for mum who is 90 and myself. Arrived after 200 mile drive to find rooms not booked. Offered 2 separate rooms at different ends of hotel no good as mum might have needed me in the night. Also we were offered 2 rooms on another floor. We don't do stairs. Ended up sharing with mum which she didn't want with suitcase still packed. Order meal and wrong one sent, dining room closed. Sat on bed with meal. Tuesday ill staff wouldn't serve me breakfast in room which the maid who couldn't speak English tried to clean at 8.10am. Ordered 2 cappuchinos and there was an argument between staff who would make it. Eventually 25mins later they arrived. Received money back for my room but mum had no compensation. Staff very surly, no smiles or Good mornings. Very upset by this experience as the whole point of the trip was to stay somewhere leisurely in order to visit my sister who has cancer.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in the Cherwell Suite and also had two more rooms booked for my daughter and her family for one night. Our suite was very spacious, clean and very well laid out. The hotel staff were absolutely amazing and extremely helpful. Overall a very good experience and would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel, particulary in the Cherwell Suite.

We stayed for four nights, which included a weekend. This was a leisure break.
Our room was the Bloxom Suite. This suite was spacious, clean, tidy and comfortable with a king size bed. There was also a large plasma TV. The only disappointment with the suite was a very basic bathroom, which had a combined bath and shower. The positioning of the screen along the bath side mean that water spilled on to the floor when having a shower, which when wet was extremely slippery.
The hotel was over three floors, but surprisingly there was no lift.
When we stayed there it was hot and with no air conditioning the room remained hot and stuffy at night time.
Breakfast was well served and presented with a good selection of choices for cooked and continental breakfasts.
Overall the hotel was comfortable with pleasant and helpful staff,
