“Excellent stay”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

I stayed in this hotel september 2013 and had a fabulous nights stay..My original booking through group on had to be cancelled due to me taking ill..However the hotel rang me and told me I could take it at a later date..I found this to be extremely courteous of the hotel as many hotels would think ive already had your money so wouldnt bother contacting you..the staff are very helpful and the restaurant and meals are excellent..This was supposed to be a 2 night stay but only stayed 1 night due to other commitments..I was actually given a suite when i got there rather than a standard room and I felt very special even if for only 1 night..Would definitely recommend this hotel .....

Check in was very easy with a very friendly staff member.
The room was in twin which was situated in the basement. It was very comfortable with nice soft beds and clean white sheets.
The bad thing was the paper tin walls so you could here the conversation and other "things"going on in the other bed room.
The bathroom was clean and they had huge bathtowels.
In the morning there was a breakfast buffet and a choice of English cooked breakfast.
The staff in the breakfast room we had the first morning was of east european origin and could not speak English very well but in the end we got what we wanted.
The parking is around the back of the hotel and this gets full in the day time when there are courses given. When we were there this happenend so we had trouble to park our car.
Overall we would go back to this hotel.

Had a 2 night stay on a KGB Deal which was great value. Hotel staff helpful and friendly. Room 142 was quiet albeit a bit of a trek along corridors and up and down stairs, presumable because the hotel is on a hill.
Breakfast was plentiful and included in the deal was a three course meal which was very acceptable.

Room Tip: Request not too many stairs if you have mobility problems.

I spent one night at the hotel and to be truthful didn't spend much time there awake and didn't eat any food. However, parking is reasonably plentiful, the hotel is in town, rooms are clean and staff are pleasant and helpful.

we booked this for a couple of nights so we could do the Moto GP, and it definitely has character, after meeting the friendly reception staff we went on a quest to find the room, i say a quest because it was said that the hotel was originally a set of houses put together, anyway it was up stairs the down then up again to get to the room, fun, but could be a pain for the elderly, rooms were ok, food in the bar was nice, there was a wedding on when we stayed but heard nothing after going to bed.
Would stay again as good area to explore.
