“It fulfilled all the expectations of four very different people from three generations”
Reviewed 9 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

The cottage was super-comfortable and very-well-appointed, and both it and the village were most picturesque... and also a very active community who went out of their way to be welcoming to visitors. The pretty little garden even had a picture-postcard field of multi-colooured cows behind it. Top gastro-pub just opposite... imaginative food, good real beer and a charming garden, Christine and Terry our hosts could not have been more thoughtful, friendlier or more welcoming. It's a great central location for day tours to Oxford, Woodstock, Bath, Coventry, Stratford and the Cotswolds (and that's just what we managed in five days!) Watch out for traffic jams in Banbury, however. Oh, and the shower is about the best in Britain (once you've got the hang of it).

“Had a few issues which was a shame”
Reviewed 13 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Unfortunately we arrived at the property and found a few things were not quite ready for us. We understand now that this was a combination of the property being let for a long period prior to our arrival and the owners being away. We have dealt directly with the owners who have apologized for the issues which were caused.
The cottage is in a pretty village and close to a very nice pub/restaurant. The view from the rear kitchen is as described, you can see the cows over the field behind.
The beds are comfortable and you have plenty of room to move around. We were a family of 3. The bathroom is to a good standard. The kitchen is basic but has all that you need. The furnishings are a little dated.
There is no wifi as stated in the details. The owners had promised to have this installed prior to our arrival but this didn't happen. They did give us a 3g dongle which worked on the computer but not really the full access we needed.
The supplies left are pretty basic, tea towels didn't arrive until day 2, minimum toiletries in the bathroom and no homemade cakes as described in the website.
While we were there we had issues with the boiler which meant no hot water or showers. In the end we had to move to a hotel. After travelling 4000 miles from the USA and having a very packed schedule for work/family/friends having to deal with these issues and move just ruined the trip for us.
I am sure if the managers are around and these issues do not occur a second time the cottage would a be great base for anyone wanting to be in the area.
