“Neat, with a variety of styles in 'garden rooms'”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2013

Well kept gardens with a useful hand-out (returnable) guiding you around the garden and giving information. Ranging from very formal gardens (clipped shapes) and overflowing borders (even in early September) to wilder parts including an apple-laden orchard with under-grazing sheep. The kitchen garden is very large and well organised, and there are lovely cameo's within the garden that could provide inspiration for your garden at home such as swags of climbers on the building in the pool garden.
Oh and don't miss the informative display in the stableyard, I found the information on local glovemaking fascinating. Treading leather barefoot in 'pure'.....

“Lovely garden, well worth an hour or so”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

We stayed in the house attached to the garden so were able to wander round at any time of day or night. Visitors enter the garden through the house although there are only a couple of rooms open to the public so the house itself is only 5 or 10 mins at most. The main point of this place is the garden which although it is only a couple of acres is worth an hour or so for a good look round or longer if you wish to sit on one of the numerous seats and relax. There is so much to see in such a small space, the garden being planted in a series of rooms. Most of the garden is formal planting but there is a large vegetable plot and a wild part with a great tree swing for young and old kids.

This is a great place to come for a look around and maybe a coffee before going to one of the other nearby NT places such as Montacute (10 mins drive).

The cafe looks basic compared to other NT properties although we did not try it but would say it is ok for coffee and cake but not a main meal.

“Lovely gardens but a brief visit (and expensive if not a member)”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

I'm an NT member so the full adult admission of £7.50 for an adult full price will appear very steep to walk round this small (but nonetheless beautiful) gardens. Tintihull is a haven away from the madness of the modern world so picking a bench and watching the world go by is a worthwhile activity. But the gardens are small; if you would like a walk divert to nearer Montatcute House or Barrington Court.
The attraction has a small tea room in the stable block and a lovely orchard to picnic in but really this site is not for a planned day trip - do it on the pass through. I did like the fact that the kitchen garden supplies the restaurant at Montacute (the food there is excellent).
